F!@#&^G SH!T!!What's happening to the Titans exactly? Are they leaking oil from the differential or is it shoddy components from Nissan? |

F!@#&^G SH!T!!The 04's and early o5's had an issue with the rear diffs. It was not a nissan part, I think it is Dana. Its covered under warranty and beyond, nissan replaces it free. I dont now anything about the mechanics, but I think the gear is getting chopped up or something. It cannot handle the torque?? I can't be certain, but I dont believe there have been cases on late model 05, or any 06 or 07. I also understand it to only havebeen an issue on a small number of the 04's and early 05's. This info is based on info from various Titan forums. |

F!@#&^G SH!T!!When you install the shaft through the rear diff, you have to set drag on the bearings (about 15 lb/i I think) AFTER you tighten the holding nut to over 200lb/ft torque. If they screwed up this little bit of install magic (wrong torque, not enough drag), the failures will come thick and fast. Dana rear ends will handle 3 times the torque that truck can produce...if installed correctly. Don't blame Dana, their stuff is top notch. I bet the replacement parts are Dana too. Nissan won't make any diffs that big in house. My bet? Snobby newbie truck owners towing in overdrive in their leather-clad, Eddie Bauer, dvd player, nav system toy trucks from Nissan. (sorry Manny and Evan, just ball-bustin'...LOL) My Dodge has 110K on it and hardly a problem yet. One set of brake pads, one set of tires and an alternator. |
