I did it.

Well I ran the New Jersey Marathon yesterday. Months of training all culminating in one morning of pure torture. I cruised the first half doing really well and a few minutes under my goal pace which was great. I felt fantastic up to about mile 15 when my right hamstring started to seize. That continued for the next 8 miles or so before my left one also began to seize. Worst 11.2 miles of my life. By the end of the race I was about 500 yards away and had to stop to bend over and stretch twice because they were so tight I couldnt take a step. All and all a great time for everyone. hahaha. I actually only finished about 20 minutes behind my goal and ran 3:50 which is ok for my first anyway.

I had also convinced my mom, 2 sisters, and girlfriend to run the marathon relay. They each ran a part (5 mi, 8 mi, 5 mi, 8.2 mi) and they won their category!!! Overall I'm happy about just being done everything and having accomplished it all. I recommend it to everybody. OK, maybe no the full marathon but definitely some kind of race. They are a ton of fun.

I'm gonna race on out to the mailbox!

Seriously, I envy anyone that can do something like that. The marathon, not racing to the mailbox...
