You know...the first part of your post made sense and everything, and I somewhat agree with it...but you didn't have to get nasty afterwards. Who's tax dollars have I wasted just by sharing my concerns as a worried mother with you guys? This never happend to neither one of my daughters before so I'm sorry if I had some concern. I'm not going ballistic jumping to the ceiling and calling the school about this ya know?

Bomb threat at my daughter's school

Schools these days have to spend so many resources on keeping the poor children safe against harm, no matter how ridiculous the threat. And yet I see so many parents driving with a car full of screaming kids talking on the cell phone with one hand, drinking coffee with the other and driving with their knees.

Not saying you're one of those but it's always seemed like the schools do a pretty good job of keeping kids safe. There will always be incidents at schools but they're isolated and sensationized by the media. It seems like parents are always quick to blame the schools for any perceived failure to keep their children safe but turn a blind eye to the things they do at home which expose their children to risk.

Paranoid Protip: If you're really worried about your children's safety, make sure they take the bus to and from school. They're a lot more likely to be injured in an accident on the way to school in your poorly driven mammoth SUV than they are riding the big yellow limo.

Go get a job at a school. Report back to me in a year. Then tell me if you really think parents deserve a phone call for no reason.

Exactly 'what' would a phone call of done? Made you FEEL better, made you FEEL like you knew what was going on in the real world, made you FEEL like you had control over her life 24 hours a day. If your daughter is the primary concern here, what would you knowing do for her? Not a damn thing.

Your kid will never be safe. There will always be something. You can do your best to teach them how to keep themselves out of situations but you can't protect them from everything.

Private schools get bombed too. Homeschool kids go wacko way more than public school kids. Colleges get shot up. And notes written by 4th graders get treated like Hamas videos of threats on lives. Woop-d-frickin-do.

Bomb threat at my daughter's school

There are bomb threats at the high school in my town all the time. Be it boredom, get out of test, etc. kids will keep doing it.

Just recently the town police got confessions from a few kids. However no parent or guardian was present when they were interrogating the kids so who knows.

It's not the ones who put notes that you have to worry about anyway, they're just starving for attention. It's those who are silent and loners who turn up in schools with devices and guns and hurt others.

From all the instances within the last year of this happening I think this might be the direction the public is going to have to consider going.
Plenty of metal free explosives, better have the dogs.
