That seems like a fix that any gun smith could do. Why would you ship it back unless it was covered under warranty? If mine happens to break off, which I don't see happening any time soon, I'll be putting some Trijicon night sights on.

I think we should go here. You can go past your old stomping grounds at WNEC.

I am assuming it was under warranty as he had it for only a few weeks, and it just came off while firing. Do they make Trijicons for it? Last he checked that was a no.

That place is okay, but with all the guns and all the members here we should just meet somewhere and have at it. AFS is getting an all new fully automated range this month

Yeah, they make em for the Sigma. Nice little upgrade over the stock glow in the darkers.

Oh, I do like that model 9mm you have. Those features are great. And for that price? Who could ask for anything more!

The approved firearms list shows the Ruger P89D, but it doesn't show the P89DC. Anybody know the difference? It shows NO Taurus guns legal in MA, that doesn't make any sense. It's missing Colt too, what's up with that?

That roster is pretty much useless.
That was made for FFL1 holders who have a store front and want to sell guns. As Joe public you can get almost anything you want, including full auto's with the proper lic. and alot of cash for the taxes and it's appetite.
With your basic ALP or Restricted LTC large cap. you can buy privately what you cannot in the stores and it is perfectly legal. I would suggest renting and borrowing a number of different guns until you find one that just feels really good. They all have little differences that will make a big difference in how you shoot.
If you are ever in the neighborhood the range is a mile from the house and I have some you could try out. I could PM you some choices if you like, just buy the ammo

four seasons is the only place i go. You can get factory refurbished glocks there for 425-475. I bought my glock 17(october 21 1998 says can keep the 17 round clip..woohoooo.....love that gun and cheap ammo. When i took my class the officer said that usually you get the F.I.D 1st then when it expires you can apply for target and hunting ltc....If you have a hookup you can get ltc for all lawfull purposes 1st off.

Haven't read the whole thread, but....
You may say it's out, but my girlfriend and I both carried H&K USP compacts(till I sold mine, gotta race). Mine was a .45ACP and hers a .357sig. Neither of us EVER had a problem with either. Jam or otherwise. I loved that gun, perfect size, ease of operation and takedown.

I'd have bought a glock if it weren't for the lack of an external safety. I consider them to be the AK-47 of handguns. Not overly accurate, just damn reliable.

My parents carry Kimbers, but I don't remember exactly which model. For .45s they are some of the easiest and most accurate handguns I've ever shot.

The first handgun I ever bought was a stupid Desert Eagle chambered in 50AE, stupid decision. I wanted a protection gun and got a hand cannon.

I know some people who have Springfields(kinda like a glock knockoff) and haven't had good luck with them, just what I've heard.

I'll be doing some hard research on them soon also, as I'll be getting another......

Keep us posted!

Not true.
No need to have a hook up... just apply. Each city and town in MA gets to set their own issuing policy (which is bullshit, but another discussion) Some issue ALP LTC's freely, others will not issue ANY. Depends on where you live, but you don't need a hook up and you do not need to start with an FID card. I didn't.

Packing.org maintains a decent list on which towns will (typically) issue what...
It paints a pretty ugly picture for MA gun owners.

Great ballistics, but a bit of a snappy recoil for her. My .45 was easier to control. It's an expensive round, but she claims to like it. Some more expensive ammo has a HUGE muzzle flash, too!

Took the class last night. Good stuff. Rodney Conrad, our instructor, was very educated, professional and thorough.

The of us 4 in the class all passed easily. It was a relaxed environment. He was very open with current gun laws and regulations and the licensing process. I am confident that I will not be denied an "All Lawful Purposes" large-cap Class A license from what he was saying. He also said that basically all towns in the state other than Boston, Holyoke and Springfield are instructed to give out Class A ALP's whenever asked. There is also a comittee for appeals if there is a denial that will need to be provided a solid reason why the applicant was denied.

I'd recommend him. It was a short course (3 hours). If you would like his contact info, PM me.

Exactly. The reasoning Officer Conrad told us was that there have been too many home break-in's where legally owned firearms were stolen and then used in crimes.

Seems like fewer guns in homes would both hurt and help....

There've been trigger lock giveaways in Spfld.

And they still won't give you one for "all lawful purposes." Same cops that don't want in-car cameras? Go figure.
