Kudos to Officer Patrick Mullen

So, the other day, I'm riding the back roads in Goffstown and stop for gas. As I dismount, a cruiser pulls up next to me and stops. Now, it's obvious that he's not getting gas and wants a word with me.

I'm thinking, shit this guy was no where around when I was hitting the back roads kind of hard, so what's this about. As I lean down to talk to him, he asks "How do you like the K 1200R?" He then proceeds to talk to me for about 15 minutes about his BMW and riding the backroads. He then gives me directions to a nice "semi-twisty" back road that leads into New Boston and then into Mont Vernon.

Before he leaves, he gives me his card with his cell phone number and tells me I should call him if I'm ever going to be riding in the area since he's always looking for people to ride with...

Needless to say, I was impressed that he wasn't another power hungry ass hat who wanted to give a rider a hard time about something...

Brad,

He was RIGHT on about some of those roads. There are some really nice twisties around and pas New Boston heading towards Henniker etc.

He sure was, I spent the remainder of the day hitting those roads before I had to head home to the Missus...

I do...

And, being a former law enforcement officer myself, as well as having a brother who is still a cop, I know and understand the stresses of the job, and have an enormous amount of respect for those in the job. And while it may be a HUGE generalization, I also know that the majority of my interactions with law enforcement while I'm on the bike have been negative. (Whether it's deserved or not...)

SO, rather than post on the negative interactions, I ignore them. However, I felt that a positive interaction deserved noting. As a society, we are all to quick to focus on the negatives, and simply gloss over or ignore positive situations. I wanted to act differently...
