dam.. basement leaking..

it's happened once beforeonly at one corner when i didnt put back a downspout that I took off. when i returned it.. the problem stopped

wel now the basment is leeaking.. downspout is where it is supposed to be. its working i recently aso put sod down next to that corner of the house ensuringit slopes away fromthe house.

Seems to be leakign right from where the joint of thefloor( poured concrete) and the cinderblockwall meet ( there's been a little mold there in the past.)
after this storm blows over I plan on mitigating this corner as best i can

any ideas on how to do it?
1. prepare teh surface get old paint off and such.
2. chisel inthe joint where the wall and floor meet
3. then waterprrof it and lay mortar??

any thoughts for exact products or such??

the basement does nto have a sump pump nor needs it i think.

hmmm no standign water on the outside of the corner of the house where its "leaking" so mabe a french drain isnt the best.
the expanding styro foam may do the trick after i've chiseled out the joint.

If it's coming up from under the floor, the only real way to solve it is a french drain system. You can try the foam crap and any other product that says it will seal the concrete but at most, it's a temparary fix

If water is coming up from the floor, you need an electric sump pump. Patching cracks will only move the problem.

Hydraulic cement would be a better fix then the expanding foam if you can clean out the crack.

Take a look at where your gutters are draining and look at extending the outlet pipe, or using a rain barrel and inground irragation system for flower beds.
