Selling our house...?

So it's been over a month that our house is on the market. After one offer retracted, it's kinda depressing and I wonder how much exactly does a real estate agent work for you...I've been told we should also do our part and advertise our house here and there. I'm just not sure what are good places to do so?

Have you guys had past experiences with websites such as "ISoldMyHouse.com", or "ForSaleByOwner", etc. or do people even check local newspapers for RE? Advertising on sites like the above cost an average of $200-$300, so it ain't cheap. I'm just very nervous...I wouldn't want us to loose our house.

Selling our house...?

i bought my condo from the isoldmyhouse.com place. Its kinda nice i guess because its free to look at and to be able to contact the seller you have to be pre approved though their mortgage people....that doesnt mean you have to go through them...just get pre approved. i think it cost the guy 100 bucks or something once it was sold to me

Selling our house...?

I found our house in Southwick on that same site (ISoldMyHouse.com), they have a few packages available...both websites range prices are $89 or $125 month to month, or $200 unlimited (until house sells), and higher $$ if you want a lawn sign, etc. (which we don't, real estate agent wouldn't like that...lol)

edit: "the man of the house" just told me he won't pay for advertisement to help sell the house. I'm going to have to use free means such as Craigslist, put flyers up in groceries, maybe call the military bases nearby (Westover and Barnes), etc.

what kind of contract do you have with your agent?

sell it somewhere else, you still may owe your agent a commission

The Market is slow right now. Wont pay 200 bucks to list it but you will pay a realator 5000 or more when it sells. That makes sense......

You have to be willing to pay to get more exposure on the market. You have to be willing to invest to get the expected return

The main work of an agent is for you to sign their contract

Surprised you got away with 3 months

When lawyers look under their rocks they see real estate agents

I have to wonder what your agent is doing, he should be taking care of this
