Not sure why, but I thought Transformers movie was supposed to come out only on July 4th, somehow it's playing today at the West Springfield Theaters...

Transformers TONIGHT!!

ehhh...was it really that great?

the cgi was awesome, and the depictions of the cartoon characters came out great, but there was really no plot, there was a lot of unnecessary comic relief (come on...optimus prime messing up a flower bed? the little girl asking about the tooth fairy?), the cheesy romance made the movie worse, and it didn't pay nearly as much tribute to the original cartoons as it did waste time on developing rapport with tedious human characters (ie. the sector 7 leader/cop? what a douche). It seems like michael bay tried to appeal to the largest audience possible at the expense of making a good movie.

Oh please...most people don't over analyze movies like that. It's entertainment, and it was damn good entertainment too!

Just saw it at the matinée. Thought it was incredible. Simple story, but the CGI effects were just amazing.

Sequel has to be coming.

And boy did GM get some mileage out of its license to Dreamworks in this film!

i was thinking about going to the movies tonight, either ''evening' or 'license to wed'...i need a guy w. me in order to see transformers. I watch 4 yr olds that play with transformers, i also may need liquid encouragement to go watch action figures on the big screen, lol.

i bet the kids loved it, though!

I thought it was a great movie, funny, action packed sci fi with great cgi. It should be a simple movie the cartoon was.

I would see it again. I'm going to buy it only blu ray for sure.

I saw it and I thought it kicked ass. It has a basic storyline/plot, nothing too complicated. Just a pure action packed movie.

I'm going to go see it a second time. Do I smell a Transformers 2?!?!?!?!?! I think so!!!!!!!!

Ya its quite far but we did drive to Birmingham for a weekend party a few years ago. The bonus was I got to hang out at Barber for two days. Anyway I wasnt meaning to drive out last night I far too lazy for instant planning but we all ride for an hour + just to meet up for a ride so I figure seeing a movie I probably wouldnt see myself is pretty much the same.
