biggest loss i had was i had a integra ordered a bunch of parts and the motor blew before any were installed

or my cl that had every go fast mod other than turbo/supercharger and i sold it to my dad for the same price i paid 7 months before hand

or my truck that i dumped 5-7k into and now i can't even sell it for penuts

Just because your car is modded, doesn't mean you'll get the value of the car + $$$ from the mods when you sell it. Unless you sell it for someone looking for that exact car w/ those exact mods... maybe.

If anything, a modded car says to that the car was either driven hard or you've made a sacrifice to the longevity/integrity of the car. I know that from the factory, most cars are pretty anemic and the engineers have taken a middle of the road approach (to save costs and manufacturing time).

To some people, it's just fun to see how much then can get out of a car -- usually those people get a car, mod it out, get bored, part it out, sell car, buy another and start again. I can respect that. Then there's the ricers... and well... no explanation needed.

I think I'm gunna buy a house. I've been on a house kick for about 5 years now. Hopefully it'll stop once I get one, or I'm in big trouble.

The only reason I haven't added to the 8 bikes yet is waiting on the house. Once that's out of the way, the flood gates will be OPEN

Stoneman, pick up a fun project, old dirtbike or something that is dirt cheap and will occupy your time. Or get another dog. Either way is easy to have a lot more shit layin around the house!

You don't buy a house - you buy a new hobby. Thank God for the long winters in New England, plenty of time to do the indoor projects and you can't ride anyway.

My college buddy and I used to talk about turbos, new tires, shocks and struts, etc. He called me yesterday all excited that he just bought a steamer that can do tile, and the fence contractor moved him up a week...

There are times I think, "Damn, I wish I had a nice car." And then there are times I think, "Who cares, it gets me from A to B."

Having no $ helps... as does having other things to spend money on (grad school, etc.) also makes me think along the lines of the latter. That's not to say I don't splurge every now and then... just not on terribly big ticket items...

Well, the 2.5rs would be my toy for an STi swap... Although it would take me a few years to get that together between getting money together and researching parts supporting parts, yada yada.

I've put off grad school for 3 years... starting in the spring, that'll put a hit on my wallet.
