If you don't have a clear reason/objective for wanting to buy a particular item and just "want to buy something", you have compulsion issues.
Compulsions are OK if you can afford them and you still manage your responsabilities, but when they become a finacial burden on you and your family, it has to be addressed like any other addiction.

'Tis true. Both my wife & I DEFINITELY have compulsion issues when it comes to buying larger-ticket items. Just about everything we own was bought basically on impulses, although we usually take at least a coupla days to do some research on shit we buy. This is why we end up with so much shit. Fun shit yes, but far too much of it...
