I dig the 9-2x. Basically a WRX Wagon with a nicer looking shell and interior.

Ugly. It's what makes Subaru a Subaru.

I think I want to get into a Forester Sports 2.5 XT...But it doesn't seem to have much room over the WRX Wagon...And I don't see a Legacy GT Wagon (did they stop makin' 'em? I haven't poked around Nasioc much) after I run my current ride into the ground... cuz that's how I roll.

Damn straight... I got like... what? 168hp... and 4eat to boot.

I do have some WRX wheels i need to clean up and put on there though... plus I'm rockin' a NESR sticker and NASIOC sticker... that's gotta count for something.

I dunno, there are times I wish I had turbo goodness, and then times I really don't care. Probably all the better I don't have a nice car... my car's been hit by people in parking lots... missing paint here... a chip there... a dent/scuff over there.

But it gets me here to there and I can schlep my stuff in it. So for that, it's great. I'm getting married soon... so I guess that means I'll never ever have a nice car... ever.

I split the 70 mile commute between the RC51 and the scoob. But yeah, its my only car. I like driving around on 255/40 azenis on 9" wheels, running 22 pounds of boost, injecting methanol into the throttle body, monster sway bars, etc.

roughly 450 ft/lbs at the crank by 3700 rpm out of a 4 cylinder that gets 20mpg isnt too bad

edit:

12.5 @ 109 is my best

edit: #2 thats at the wheels, I add about 20% for crank numbers. the two lines are with and without the methanol injection. I run methanol daily though, the non meth map is just for backup incase theres a failure.

Where'd you get 9" wheels?

AWD in New England... and it has four doors... four cylinders...don't see why it can't be the ultimate family mobile...

edge racing

I put snows on it in the winter and its a tank in the snow. I dont know how much you know about sti's, but the center diff is controllable. When you lock the center + the front and rear LSDs, its like a freakin truck.

4 doors, 4 cylinders, 21 mpg roughly, very safe, great in the snow, handles great, mods great, looks great...

I love the car, No clue what I would ever get otherwise.

I knoes lots about STI's.

I'll probably never own one... closest I'll get is a WRX Wagon maybe... but even that might never happen.

Although... there was someone over at Nasioc that dropped an STI engine into a 99 OBS... how's that for stealth?

And STI powered GC8 would have much win.

I think it's a competent package straight from the factory... as is the STI.

You could buy it, leave it stock and I think you'd be fairly happy with it. It's not going to be as quick and tossable as the STI, that's for sure; but it's a more 'grown up' car -- and I think you're getting good performance and looks for the money.

You can mod them, and there is actually a pretty decent following of Legacy folks.

What I don't like about WRX/STI is the whole boy racer, street racer look... especially now that the 1st gen (in the US anyway) 02-03 WRX's getting cheaper for F&F types to buy and streetrace in (hooray).

Also out there are parents that are buying their recently licensed teens '04 STI's...or they're going into debt financing one... ... maybe next year Skippy can get a 'busa. (I'm not hatin' -- if you can afford a nice/performance car, by all means do it... but I seriously doubt that a new driver is going to be responsible on the roads...)

Spec b is sweet, classier verison of the sti, still very capable. Same block, beautiful interior, etc

If i wasnt so into auto-x and modding, I would have deffinitely got one!

Oh... and depending what you're into... you could always take a look at the Legacy 3.0 R limited

If you're looking for turbo, that doesn't have it... but what it does have is the H6 (Boxer 6 cylinder engine) with 245HP.

Wait... I just realized that it only comes in AT. Go with the LGT Spec. B if you're looking for MT.

Out of my last 4 cars I have not once owned an A/T

There just isn't any fun in driving a car without a MT
