The way I see it, *all* animals are entitled to humane treatment while alive and a decent, humane death if that death is to be put upon them by humans. Even if they are destined for a slaughterhouse (cows, veal, chickens, pigs, etc.) they should be killed as quickly and painlessly as possible.

Electrocuting dogs and smashing their heads in just shows complete depravity. It is considerably quicker and easier to kill an animal with a bullet in the head or a slit throat; these guys weren't only sick fucks for hosting dog fights, they are mentally ill for getting off on killing these animals.

NO WAY! the MLB BANNED pete rose for gambling. this is FAR worse. 52 pit bulls? c'mon. its not just illegal. its a federal crime. its inhumane. cruel. and bunch of other things that i cant fathom

Maybe they still have time to change the name of the shoes to "Electrocution Air".
Nike bought from sweat shops in china, that whipped little kids that were not working fast enough.. do you think they care about dogs??

id also like to add that what if he wasnt abusing dogs and he was abusing kids instead? what would the NFL do then?
unfortunatly.. most likely most of the 52 (if not all) will have to be put down if they were exposed/trained to any fighting, which is sad. i hope the possible 6 years and $350,000 fine is PER DOG.

I believe that number was the total for all 18 charges he faces. Its a felony in all but 2 states.

SI.com: What's a realistic sentence in this type of case?

Dohrmann: Sentences for animal fighting cases vary; every judge views the severity of that crime differently. It is hard to imagine him getting the maximum of six years. Still, federal offenders serve about 85 percent of their sentence, a percentage more than double of some states. So, if Vick is convicted and sentenced, he would likely do considerably more time than someone given the same sentence at the local level.

There is something about treating animals in this way that touches people even more than when abuse happens to humans. People are more emotionally charged about this incident than the ones in the past like spousal abuse, drug use etc.

I hope he gets the maximum and is made an example of.

while i agree with your emotions, dogs are not kids.

I think this is a chance to make an example out of him. Pitbull owners like this guy are one reason why they get such a bad rap.

Maybe it is time to reform the laws about this stuff.

THen go after the scumbag drug dealers who use them as weapons in urban neighborhoods.

several...where should i start

kids walk on their legs, are not furry, usually do not pant or lick their crotches and it is a felony to run one over that is crossing the street....

dog on the other hand are furry, pant often as well as liking their crotch(lucky bastards) and if you hit one in the road all you need to do is call the police and report that you hit a dog
