While the facts you stated are true, that does not make them not children. When you have children you care for them, teach them, provide for them, look our for their safety and love them. Do people not also do that for their pets? One of the definitions of Child:

Child - An individual regarded as strongly affected by another or by a specified time, place, or circumstance:

Do the actions of a person not have this affect on their pets? Yes it is at different levels. However I take my dog everywhere I can with me, I plan activities around their schedules, I find somebody to watch them when I am not around, I avoid doing certain things because it would keep me away from my dogs for to long. Is this not things that a normal parent would go through?

What about couples who can not have children but instead raise and care for dogs and forge a bond with those pets like some have with their children? Just because you don't understand why some people get upset does not mean you are right. Dogs, just like children cannot defend themselves from predators like Vick and his posse. So my question is why should we not be outraged that somebody is doing this to a helpless creature?

dogs are not humans therefore they are not awarded the same rights as humans for a ton of reasons i shouldnt have to list.

my point was the legal ramifications for killing/injuring/abusing dogs. You can be outraged...i am too...but to think the punishment should be the same as if the dogs were human is crazy....

Well if they did something like this with humans they would be locked up until the trial and there would not be bail or plea bargains. Not to mention they would be looking at the Death penalty instead of 5 years of prison. So I think they are already getting off pretty easy.

His guilty plea is a joke, I can't believe they gave in to that.
Nothing in there for killing/torturing the dogs.
Nothing in there for gambling.

Which basiclly means he will serve about 6 months top and then be back in the NFL next season. What a joke.

Yeah to the commish. You know I was reading on fox sports and they have spots for people to comment. Did anybody else notice that the only people to bring up race were defending Vick? All I could do was shake my head. For me I don't care if you are white, black, orange or green; you do something like that and I don't want to see you ever play in the NFL again.

You wanna know what the real tragedy is? Vick was supposed to be pretty much the 2nd coming of Christ to the NFL and he SUCKS!!! At least now Atlanta can get started finding a 'franchise' QB. (oh, Altanta is the team Vick played for, that's for all you pig-pilers who didn't even know who Vick was until this went down )

FWIW, Vick is getting what he deserves.

For all the people so outraged over Vick, do you have a similar problem with Ray Lewis?

It's true, black quarterbacks get no respect in the NFL. I honestly believe Mr. Vick didn't know any better. (Dumb fuck.)

While I find it rather amusing, I still don't understand why you have such a hardon for this guy. Did he fuck your wife or your sister?

his plea was for a high of 18 months, I wish it were 23 years but its better than some otherwise liberal judge could have given. 3 years no NFL if he ever comes back!!

I am glad that he got 23 months........I hope that his life will be forever changed and that his career will flop in the NFL.
