How did you even see those? I'm testing some RSS syndication in a new forum. Fear not...it's not spam and it will be in its own forum where you don't have to see it unless you want to read it.

OK, I've put the News Bot user in my ignore list, but I still see all the threads that it started. Is this normal?

Got it...I'm seeing if I can exclude posts in that forum from the search feature, which should keep them out of the 'new posts' feature as well. If you see them again this morning, I'm still working on it. If I can't get it working, I'll scrap the whole idea.

if News Bot is going to post it at least needs to introduce itself in the welcome forum so it can then bump that thread a few months later.

That didn't work. I'm going to setup an offline test forum to play with, so that I don't ruin anyone's day while I fuck with this stuff.

That's what I meant by offline, sorry. Yeah I'll just setup a test forum on this server...using a copy of NESR as it is today. Then I can test/tweak/break stuff without any impact to the live board. I didn't think about the 'new posts' issue when I was testing the newsbot.

No biggie. I can't even begin to imagine what it takes to keep up with all the maintenance on this site.
