never liked man vs wild.... takes way too many chances that someone who really knows what they're doing wouldn't take.

Les Stroud can out survive that Bear Bitch any day

Survivorman is definitely a good show... I just remember one episode (probably the only I watched) of Man vs Wild were he jumped off a huge cliff into the water below and basically said, "only one way down"... yep, that's exactly what I would do if I wanted to survive, jump of a cliff into water of unknown depth or without knowing if there are rocks right below the surface...

both shows are entertaining, but if your watching them to learn about survival there great at showing you what you shouldn't be doing.

it would be nice if they brought in the expert survivalist they use to get info about the area to grade them at the end and go over all the things they did wrong.

I'm pretty sure that the incident took place in the first episode he did. In future episodes he uses a rock tied to a measured vine/rope to measure the depth and a calculation of what is a safe height to jump from.

Im very curious about what exactly was real and what was not....seems like a lot of the things he did were real, the climbing, the hunting etc etc.

Yah and Survivorman is only cool until he gets busted too? Probably only a matter of time.

Yah the Lava bridge video is amusing as hell. I'm amazed that guy was able to find the same lava bridge.

I haven't watched Survivorman.. is he *always* holding the camera himself?

i always kinda figured it was for the most part true....but if he ever got in trouble he had ppl there to help him. obviously they aren't gunna let the star of a hit show die or get seriously hurt while filming.

so he doesn't necessarily have a buffet waiting for him off camera...i know hes said in a couple episodes that there is a camera crew there but they aren't allowed to interact with him.

either way, their job is to make an entertaining show that will get people to watch....mission accomplished on their part.

Suvivorman was good until I saw the episode where he was stranded at sea in a liferaft, but when the storm comes they brought him on the yacht that was in the area and the yacht hid in a cove until the storm blew over. Nice to know when Im stuck in a dingy, when a storm comes I can just take refuge on a yacht in a cove. Id be more impressed if he weathered the storm.
