A few months ago I sold my 2005 Legacy GT wagon to aquire a truck for various reasons. After a coupla weeks without a cage, I stumbled across a 2001 Stranger and a new trailer, both for a very good price.
Well my 20 day plates on both expired so I went out today to register the truck/ trailer combo.
I went to the town hall and I was doing fine until the woman behind the counter says "Oooh....you have a $167 credit after registering the truck."
I say "That's great! Just put it the rest towards the trailer and I have another bike to register."
She says "I can't do that. The credit can't be transferred or used toward anything else."
I'm thinking to myself "WTF?" and I ask what the credit is good for? She basiclly told me "nothing" and that I'm pretty much losing out on 167 dollars on top of that I still have to pay to register the trailer!
What The Fuck is wrong with this picture? I payed for a registration on another vehicle, have a credit from the new vehicle and now I have to pay on it again along with paying for a full trailer reg????!!

So I'm basically out $177.50 and that's that.

The DMV can blow me. Fucking bastards!

I may just bring this up during my next traffic stop....."Hey officer, you guys already soaked me for 177 bux, let's say we call it even okay?"

Good question! I think she was as surprised as I was to see this

It is, however, put on the registration as "-$167.00" in the "Credit" box on the truck reggie, so even if she didn't say anything I woulda noticed at some point.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, there was an additional $10.50 that came out of my pocket because the credit couldn't be used for something on the truck registration...I don't remember what...maybe processing or something...so that's where the figure of $177.50 came from.


Let's see what I potentially got screwed out of:

Partial cost of a track day

Registration of the CBR

Truck needs two tires

A new pressure washer woulda been nice....
