Got Wood???

Looking for firewood. I'll buy a cord or come and fil the bed of my truck.

Just thought of giving someone on the board a chance to get the Business.

Maybe I'll go chop down some of Iglu's yard!

We may be interested. It wouldn't be any good to you this year though. Actually, it won't even be down until spring now...

I think in the Center of Town Mike next to Crystal Gas there is a sign up for firewood, 85 a truckload. You can call Rays firewood or that guy on Quaker St and get it for 225-275 for a cord delivered. Also when you see stuff as you are driving around you may be able to find some and also craigs list on the free part.

If you don't mind burning pine, I've got a cord or 2 of that on the ground and cut up...and 2 big trees that fell last year that are good and seasoned that need to be cut up. The thing I like about burning pine is it gives a good hot fire quick...then put your hardwood in

I dont think its good to burn pine for an indoor fire. Doesnt it mess up your chimney and stuff with grime?

If your ever looking to sell pine I work with a guy who sells it to campers (he lives next to a few camp sites) and is always looking for pine.

If you burn it like you would hardwood, yes it's bad. If you keep the dampers open and let the thing rip, you'll get a crap load of heat from a clean burning fire Only problem is you'll burn 5 or 6 times as much wood

I got about 13.3 acres with a 50% mix of pines, what's it worth?

Although I frequently get wood, I can't say as I'm not in the "wood" business.

Zachary! The key to burning soft or green wood is HIGH HEAT. Can be quite a bitch to get it going though...

You don't want an axe, you want a splitting maul. Makes splitting a whole lot easier...

I am sure I could help, but no experience with Chimneys. So far bRe-building my house and renovating my condo my carpentry skills have come back to me and other skills I didn;t know I had showed it's colors.
Just last night I was a carpenter, plummer and electrician! Saved a ton of money and everything looks proffesionally done! Hopefully it will help sell or rent my condo faster.......

So Clay when are you building the Chimney? Let me know if you seriously need help. I wouldn't mind helping and learning how to do it.. I have build retaining walls before and build concrete forms as basses for generators, I am sure those will help experience wise..
