New work

I just finished the spring semester at RISD. I am in the masters program in Furniture Design. Here are some pics of two of the pieces I made this semester.

Two pieces from spring semester. The first is more than 1,000 3” square pieces of brass formed in a 20 ton press then riveted together with solid copper rivets. The second piece is a hammered bronze housing with 30 3 watt leds, and the hanging plastic is 12” wide clear pvc loading dock strip door.

Re: New work

do those LEDs get wicked hot? melt the plastic? A lot of high powered LEDs require heat sinking so they don't over heat and die/loose efficiency.

Re: New work

Thanks guys

The leds do get warm. but they are strips of 6 that have heatsinks built into them. They are screwed to a 1/4" thinck aluminum plate which is screwed to the bronze. The whole lamp makes a pretty good heatsink.
