Hey... if anyone knows how to be fat, its me! (see attachment. Me 3 years ago!). I would recommend living on Mac n Cheese and cookies. That worked for me back in the day!

When you give it up, you'll lose weight just like those that lost weight by cutting calories and gave it up then gained the weight back.
Bullshit!

Are you only eating 3 meals a day? The personal trainer we have at work is having me eat every 3 hours. And no eating after 7pm.

Trying to gain weight; then eating three is fine. The reason you're eating every 3 hours is because it speeds up your metabolism. I've been on the same diet for years...40 grams of protein every 2 hours along with steamed vegtables, nuts, flaxseed oil, lentals, beef jerky(all spread out). Someone said it"s a lifestyle change?? It 1000% is. To gain weight fast you need to work out with heavy weights...low sets (4-8) and consume carbs and protein every 4 hours or so 40%-40%-20% 40 protein 40carbs and 20 fat. You'll see weight gain in 2-3 weeks gaurenteed..

My 2 cents..

Re: Healthier Lifestyles?

Have you had a recent physical (complete with blood work) to make sure your body is up to a change like this, and that nothing is wrong (tapeworm from a college trip to Mexico, malaria, etc)? Ask the doctor for their advice as long as you're there.

Sign up with a personal trainer who understands your goals, not one who has a cookie cutter routine to run you through and tells you to eat healthy and drink lots of water - NEXT!!!

More then likely they'll have you increase your calorie intake with healthy choices and supliments, and lift weights. Do yourself a favor - work on all the little core muscles as much if not more then the main muscles. You may also want to look at yoga, or martial arts as a way to balance in some flexibility.

Ya I know most of you hate us cause we are thin and basically always will be.

I've tried many different ways to gain weight but I just can't get over 190 lbs and I stand 6'4. WTF!

Any ideas?

And if you are asking why I would like to gain weight, even at 190lbs and 6'4 I still look skinny. At 36, I'd like to be about 210 or 220, it would fit my frame very well.
Drink a 12 pack of beer and solo a large cheese pizza, then pass out and wake up the next day dehydrated while your heart is pumping fast trying to clear the works. That'll help out in the weight gain.

And not just any beer -- its got to be dark beer. Guinness works wonders, but something like Newcastle works too.

6,000 calories a day is a lot, where are you getting them from?

are you using any weight gain supplements?

try muscle milk: 1 after your workout, and 1 before you go to bed

Re: Healthier Lifestyles?

this thread baffles me. gain weight?? what, why?

i weigh 108lbs...there for every bike i sit on has a 10-20 HP advantage over the average person sitting on the same bike. i also produce less centripital force while cornering. my suspension doesn't have to work as hard, and when i tuck in on the straights, i can crawl under the paint of a RS125.

the one down fall in all this is ofcourse the fact that women do not generally date guys that wear a smaller dress size than they do.

I got about 1000 form weight gainer drinks, low sugar.

But the rest was from high calorie low fat foods, I was eating 5 meals a day and snacking about every 2 hours or so.

I've seen you, what are you like 5'6" maybe and at 108.

As I said it is a desire of mine for me and no one else. Basically it is coming to the point where I feel I need to increase my strength and along with it my body weight, I am still very active in sports and I was injured a couple weeks ago, I feel if I had been in shape it wouldn't have happened.

PS I am single and getting older, chicks dig guys that are, let's say "shapely"!
