Re: Should we change the forum name to NEPR? (New England Posing Riders)

Im not even a great rider, above average maybe simply from my racing experience, but to do any riding that challenges my abilities will end up in 2 ways, arrested or killed. I will pick and choose my spots to rip things, but Im definitely not pressing my luck 7 days a week just so people on the interwebs will think of me as a "real rider"

Most posing that I've ever been to has either started or ended with a nice ride. I give myself about 2 hours to take backroads from my house to where ever the pose is. Most of the time we ride afterwards as well.

Perhaps no one is inviting you to ride beforehand or afterwards because you'll probably just bitch about it? You waste a lot of energy being angry.

I'm just as guilty, since I have been to a few. Just seems like more of these than long rides.

Glad someone else said it, I mean like...god forbid we actually ride the damn bikes..... I guess when I say it I'm just some sort of idiot....o'well, guess I'll go drown my sorrows in Ice cream that I won by having the gayest looking clean bike...wow, I even got douche chills just writing that statement....

I live 1.2 Miles from Newbury and Thats where I hang out with motorcycle friends have coffee and talk about Bikes.

I am an Old school poser me Dollar Bill. ApolloMX because we are here already, I would not travel from halfway across the state past many low populated Twisty roads to hang on Newbury. Thats kind of gay

But since I am here already,,,,,

This makes perfect sense and I agree, like you said, I just can't understand why someone would actually want to DRIVE INTO the city on a bike just to sit....isn't the whole purpose supossed to be to drive AWAY from the city and get out on the open road??

My 2 cents..

Re: Should we change the forum name to NEPR? (New England Posing Riders)

I pose to the tune of at least 22K miles a year these past 5 years,

2 trips to Deals Gap already this year and countless trips to nowhere at speed.

I love to pose at gas stations for 10 minutes at a time refueling the bike and myself

Guess that's why I have only 400 posts in 6 years.

when it's warm, sunny, and 0% chance of rain
and for maybe an hour, before bringing it inside and cleaning it again

I'm gunna agree with mongoose on this one. If you're riding a long way specifically to sit and pose....thats pretty ridiculous.

that aside, i pose with friends at certain local spots. its fun. in fact....aside from just cruising around 2up or something and commuting to work I really dont ride too much on the street anyway. maybe i'm not a real rider....hm.

i dont think i've actually seen a single person actually pose on their bikes on newbury. most people arent even near their bikes once they park them.

it's more of a way to meet some NESR people and see other bikes. we're only there for maybe 2 hours at most, every other week. you guys got the wrong impression of the thursday night newbury thing.

haha the title of this is hilarious.

but in all seriousness you do have somewhat of a point. but the sub-forum where all these posing things are announced is "ride and EVENT info". even though it seems like all people want to do is pose and hangout, theres just as many rides going on. ive done both myself too. and to be honest, the last newbury pose i was at, i had more fun riding into boston with 9 guys and riding home with 5 than being there. you do have to ride to get there. unless your that gaage guy apparently

I go to Newbury St on Thursdays cuz it sure fuckin beats sitting at work eating my dinner by myself.

And for those that want to travel into the city to hang out with friends... well shit, what the fuck is wrong with that? I do that all the time, too. At least they're RIDING into the city & RIDING from the city, what's so wrong about hanging out with other friends that ride while you're IN the city?

Mark, you've never ridden the 1098 to a buddy's house to hang out?

This thread sucks.
