Re: Story about Doug Henry

wow - its weird how you begin to forget about people and their situations...i remember watching him back it into turn 3 (in white boots - haha)at my very first trackday - i was horrified that someone would do that on a bike! what a rider

my friend was paralyzed form the neck down last year and its amazing the attitude he has - it makes you feel like an ass when you complain about having a "bad day"

definitely an inspiration that he's still so involved in the sport

Re: Story about Doug Henry

Yeh... I remember when Doug & Jeff Wood split KB going into the chute for turn 3, both with the rear wheel stepping out & KB coming back into the pits yelling "HOLY FUKKIN SHIT, HOLY FUKKIN SHIT, HOLY FUKKIN SHIT" for like an hour.

... I bet KB remembers that, too

Thanks for the article, Mike... definitely a good read. Best wishes to Doug in his recovery, as well as his wife... I had no idea about that.

Doug's cool. Great article. I met Doug and John Dowd quite a few years back in Southwick. I went to high school John in Chicopee, MA. they were both great MX racers.

Great story. Best wishes to Doug (sounds like he's making improvements) and his wife. I had no idea she had cancer.

I remember when Doug was at Loudon last. My rookie season, I almost skipped racing the motard race just to watch......Fuckin incredible rider.

Doug is the man, I wish him and his family well, they are tough peeps for sure. It was amazing to see him standing at the SuMo races last season in CT, made you really take a deep breath. I participated in the benefit woods ride the next day. Nothin but love for the guy from all around the sport.. .

Re: Story about Doug Henry

wow, this is news to me. my best wishes for the whole henry family.

i met doug once, he was riding with the penguine students when i did my rookie weekend. i had no idea who i was talking to at the time. we were just 2 guys in helmets, waiting to go out for a damp practice and disscussing traction. just thought he was some guy on a really nice motard. i was envying his full rain tires but he told me not to worry i'd be ok on the DOTs.

Re: Story about Doug Henry

man...Doug Henry will forever be an inspiration for me, he friggin rules. I wish the best for him and his family as well.
I remember back in the day when I was racing 80s he would come back east to some NESC mx races when he was on factory honda. One time in CT there was a section most people would double double, some experts would triple then single... and then comes Henry making it a quad jump every lap. Dude has gone through so much
