Put up in the hotel tomorrow night and to MEPS tuesday morning then off to ft. sill tuesday afternoon! wish me luck, I'm looking forward to the spring already when I can finally get myself back on 2 wheels with my signing bonus. I'll try to report in when I get to ft. sam in september. Have a safe riding season everyone!

From someone who has been through basic training twice (Enlisted and Officer) here are some words of advice:

Live from meal to meal and do what they tell you. Remember it's a mind game. Stay low, cooperate and you will graduate!

Went to Ft Sill the summer of '03, have fun, drink water, KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT unless otherwise told, don't volunteer for anything, and most importantly stay away from the fatty cakes, other than that you'll have a blast, especially the grenade range.

P.S. When u say Ft Sam do you mean Ft Sam Houston and for a medical mos? If so, I hope your single, and you'll have lots of fun there.

I second the "mind game" stuff. If your Drill instructor does not know your name at the end of basic you did good.

As for Ft. Sam... If you can't get laid there something is wrong.

Just remember to train hard when you train and play hard when you play... just don't mix the two.
