Question for the tech savvy - Dish DVR

I have many hour of MotoGP, FIM, AMA etc. on my Dish DVR. Does anyone know if there is a way to transfer this to a DVD or copy it some way?

Not sure what kind of DVR you've got, but you can USB some (most?) right to the comp, store it on the hard drive, and do with it what you please from there...

Buddy, Dish DVR - 522 ( don't know if that helps) once I conect to computer will it find files or will I be able to find a the DVR file directory and copy and paste or drag into the comp?

Is there any chance that the recorded video is encrypted?

Video Capture, Video Capture Cards, Video Capture Software TigerDirect.com

any one of those could probably work.. in fact, if you have a modern PC (less than 2 years old) it MAY have a capture device installed already as a feature of the video card..

a video capture device is exactly what it sounds like.
a device which "listens" to a video stream and translates it to a format which can be stored on your PC (thus capturing it).
alternatively, you could buy a stand alone dvd burner and record the stream directly to disc that way..

If you have the pre-tivo DVR you can use the firewire port on the back of the box to capture raw standard/HD content. It's a pretty involved process from what I remember. Absolutely not worth the time it would take to get it setup, working, and then to process the video afterwards.
