just do wut everyone is telling you. i avoid the hospital like the plague. hours of wait time, big bills, screw that. unless a limb is in a cooler full of ice, ill take care of it at home.

Yeah, I went to the doctor the day after and he cut off all of the dead skin (the bluish flap) and gave me a tetanus shot. I just never sustained a puncture(ish) wound before and didn't want to jeopardize my finger.

I did the exact same thing many years ago...and my left pointer finger is now a little shorter than my right. Mine was quite a bit nastier than yours and so I had mine stiched up.

...and yes...the bike was running...

and no, thats not dumb...

Unless that's your pooning finger I don't see what you're all shook up about.

Keep it clean and bandaged and I think you'll live. Alcohol and Super Glue are your friends and the advice about an up to date tetanus shot is probably prudent.
