it makes a big difference.....we've balanced the BS in the past....now this site is 90% bs

the bs i am talking about is turning every thread into a shitstorm like this one......imo as far as internet stuff goes...this is a serious topic that should stay on topic....yet you get 3-4 people that think they are funny and turn it into their own little party....for the most part, i really dont care, but i can see how it irritates people.

that type of behavior is new...there has always been an abundance of crap on this site...but at one time you could weed through the crap threads and find the worthwhile ones.... now they are all crap threads because people feel the need to bastardize them with their poor attempts at humor then their buddies respond with their even worse atttepts....

this is one of the by products of a mildly moderated site...so it's up to the members moderate themselves....now it's a free for all.....


btw - off topic does not mean you can bastardize all the threads in the sub-forum. Off topic refers to the subject of the thread you are starting and the lack of it fitting into any of the other sub-forum categories

"Destroying the place" seems to be a couple of distinct issues and they keep getting twisted up with eachother. Some of the people (pre-2003 members, mostly) are unhappy that the "be nice and lead by example" concept of NESR has died, while others (post-2003 members?) are unhappy that people post a lot of nonsense, especially NEW people.

It is one thing to have A(meaning singular...meaning one at a time) thread that never had an important topic that people can do whatever they please with. It is another for there to be 10 or so threads on the main page all of which are filled with garbage. Dont go completely shit on someones thread.

And then everyone complains that people are ruining the site, and unfortunatly like all groups, stereotypes are thrown in. And the new members are getting the blame for something that is really only a small percentage of them doing it, along with a good amount of members that have been here for a while.
