do you not like the split trigger or the trigger pull. Ma has gotten so strict, you just have to get an older one, like the refurbs, that way you get the lighter pull, it makes a world of difference, not just on the glocks but just about everything.

I dont mind the glock first gun I ever shot.... But my girl went through 2 of them before deciding all she wanted to shoot was my Kimber Grand Raptor II or her Mark III

regrettably civi-s can't own kimbers in MA, and sometimes if you go out of state there are a few dealers who see our ma ltc and won't show the guns that aren't legal here.

Re: Gun Help

I plan on buying in TX because I will be taking my gun class here the weekend I get back from MA with my wife...Plus I believe TX would be a easier to deal with for whatever gun I choose to get. My wife told me that if I wanted to spend 1,000 on a Sig Sauer that I could because we'd be holding onto it for a long time and its something that she is comfortable with.

I have a Glock 27, Subcompact .40 cal for sale. It has Trijicon Night sights and internal lasermax laser sight. I have put about 150 rounds through it. Will include a blackhawk serpa holster for it.

Re: Gun Help

i love my glock, but i kinda wish i got the one with the longer barrel... i wanted it as small as possible to be easier to carry, but for the range the longer barrel's a better shot. if she's planning to carry it she might wanna get something smaller... i have a tough time carrying mine very often due to the weight and bulkyness.

I personally loved it when I was in iraq, the fit was great and kept you very mobile. Because I was up in the turret it worked a lot better then having a hip holster or attaching more shit to my vest for a vest holster. Drop down Y holster is the way to go in my opinion.

There is an old saying, "guns aren't comfortable, they are comforting." If you just get the right holsters (yes different ones for different times of year) wear it all day for a few days, you will get used to it digging into your side and become alot more comfortable with it.

Spence, if you get the right licensing, you can have almost all the good stuff.

Re: Gun Help

My 2 cents: I carry an FN FiveSeven. It's a full size but I don't care so much about it's size, because it's so damn light! (even with a 20 round mag!) My GF carries an H&K P2000SK in 9mm that I bought her for christmas. She had a USP compact in 357sig which was a bit large and had more recoil than she was comfortable with. The P2000SK is tiny, and being DA/SA, she's got no problem carrying it decocked with one in the chamber. The Walther PPKS is a nice gun too, if you don't mind a .380.

All in all it's a very personal choice, everyone has an opinion. Test a bunch, buy her favorite. Let us know how it goes!

Re: Gun Help

This is the first time I ever heard anybody recommend an FN FiveSeven. Are you shooting the SS190's? Damned criminals and your armor piercing ammo that isn't armor piercing.
What do you think of it?

Re: Gun Help

I have shot one, it is like a 22 were you can pull the trigger like a mad man, and you are right, doesn't pass the hillbilly test of shooting through a propane tank.

Really? Glock triggers are tit for a noobie, 5.5# pull relatively clean break and very easy to work on. Mine is down to 2.5#

And spend some money because you get what you pay for, 100$ is pretty much the norm for a quality leather rig and a lil less for kydex but it's worth it.

FN ammo is stupid expensive and I was a a steel match and saw an FN that couldn't drop plates that .22's dropped all day. And by the way it's a mall ninja myth that all 5.7X28 rounds are ap, and even if you have AP rounds they don't do shit after the vest.

Re: Gun Help

I'm just saying that it works for me. It's extremely light(1.6 lbs loaded with 20 rounds). I can put ten 5.7 rounds on target 25 yards out way faster than I ever could with my 45, and still have 11 rounds left in the mag. Not just that, but it's scary accurate(for a pistol) far beyond 25 yards. The ammo is just under 25 bucks for a box of 50, about the price of quality defense 45acp. I'm not telling anyone to go get one, just that I enjoy carrying one. It is big for concealment though.

I would never own a Beretta, just personally dont like them. I think the Gov. issue ones are the ones that turned me off to them. Always had problems overseas.
I have Sig, HK and SW pistols in different calibers and all have their own perks and flaws. Everythings totally personal preference.
Def get something thats comfortable and can be easily handled.

Sorry man I wasn't trying to dog you on your choice of pistol in the least, sorry if it sounded that way. I'm a big fan of not talking shit about someones gun, ride, girl etc...

I was only asking about the FN. You usually get the same 3 or 4 guns everytime someone asks what to get. I would pick up an FN if I saw one at the right price. I'll post up my new acquisitions as soon as I pick them up. Your FN would be a compact in comparison

+1. It's all personal preference.

I shot plenty of rounds through OneInTheChamber's M&P, and although never experienced any mechanical failures/problems with it, I just don't like it. It's simply not the handgun for me.

My PD carries H&K USP compacts and P2000's (an even more compact spin-off of the USP compact). IMO, these are some of the finest handguns on the market. As a civvy in MA (i.e., not a LEO, military has no bearing in state laws), you will not be able to get your hands on a P2000 for a few years as it is still non-compliant w/ MA laws (for some stupid reason), but I believe you can pick up a USP compact, which is also a very nice weapon. Just thought I'd add a couple more options for your shopping cart Spence. Good luck.

Re: Gun Help

I didn't take offense. No worries. Just responding to the queries and comments.

For carry guns I had a USP compact in .45 that I loved, and never should have sold. Then I had an AMT backup in .45 that jammed every shot that I couldn't get rid of fast enough. I then had a springfield commanders model 1911. It shot nice, but the safety didn't work(bought it used). Then a Colt officers model 1911, again it shot nice, but this one jammed like it was it's job. Now I have the FN. I like it. So now I have a PS90 on order which I will be picking up as soon as I pay for it........

My GF still loves her P2000SK!

Yea, exactly. As soon as I have the money and can legally purchase one as a personal carry weapon, I'm absolutely, definitely, 100% going with the P2000.
