Re: What a week...

Handcuffs? Unreal.
I'm 100% done with street. I ride back and forth to work because I have a free place to park the bike but have to pay for the truck (and gas). Friday night the bike goes into the shop and stays there until Monday morning. So far my summer riding has consisted of going to Newbury St. once and a solo ride one Sunday... almost got killed by a soccer mom in a Tahoe coming at me at the apex of a corner on my side of the road (she was on the fast line). A streeted motard would DEFINITELY not help keep me out of trouble.

That sucks. Sounds harsh getting arrested for lifting the front wheel.

sorry about the bad luck denno. look at the bright side. had you pushed it on street tires, the fine would have been much worse

Re: What a week...

Wow.. that stinks!

FWIW motards make you ride more like a wahoo on the street. I'd throw a leg over a Hypermotard and be lofting wheelies, jumping shit, backing into turns, and generally being a dickhead the whole time I was on it.

Get a Multistrada or CB350 if you want to be responsible on the street

hehe i guess so, the dirtbike front ends do come up without any coaxing of the clutch...

i'd rather watch DBconz clean his chain than ride a multistrada but the cb350 aint a bad idea

Dude Multistrada is actually badass bike to ride. I rode one for 3 months in Cali and used to roll up to Alice's in full leathers, race tyres, and draggin knee and exhaust around turns. Shit would WAX some of the sportbike goons

My dad has one now. It's my favourite 'real world' bike I've ridden. Handles well, comfy, etc etc.

I know what you mean thou.. just saying

Re: What a week...

Get a sportster -

1. Cops They don't even notice them. I've never been pulled over on that thing, even at 20mph over.

2. No wheelies. It is impossible to loft the front wheel. But, you will have hours of enjoyment trying. 45hp - how much trouble could you possible get into.

3. Friends - Every 60 year old guy who used to have a sportster will want to tell you about his glory days.

4. Self Image - It makes you feel good about yourself. You can put on 50lbs and still be one of the skinniest guys on a Harley.

And the best reason:
5. Chrome! Endless options for the stuff.

I beg to differ. One of the guys up here had a sportster a couple years back and he would ride some pretty sick wheelies up to about 50mph. Granted, he's a Harley mechanic, so the motor was kinda built.
