Normally, I will buy a 2 or 5 dollar scratch ticket and without even scratching it, ripp it up right in front of the cashier because there is a much better chance that it is worthless...
I actually get more enjoyment out of that then actually scratching it and feeling like I got sucked in.Same principle..

This happened to a freind of mine's daughter. I think her check was for $3000. She took it to her bank and they said it looks ok and she would have to deposit it and wait for it to clear to get any cash, so she did. BTW she only had a couple of bucks in her account. 2 days later, when they said it would be clear to withdraw cash, she showed up as they unlocked the door. She walked out with $3000 cash. Went right to the used car dealer and bought a car, registered it, and drove away. The next morning the bank calls and said it was counterfit. She says I don't have the money. They flip out. Last I knew it had been 3 weeks and she is still driving around.

Well, there could be a contract hidden behind this check, too. A loan contract, an inducement for a purchase of a timeshare, who knows? Take it to BOA, see what they think. If it's a scam, they need to know about it.

no 500 dollar reward, o well. It was a fake, they are sending it to some fraud processing company for further investigation or something. Hope they catch the douche.
