It sounds like I have probably ended my riding season already. I highsided coming out of 12 yesterday and landed on my foot, breaking it in multiple spots. The non technical break down as I understand it is that one of the bones slid toward my toes splitting another one of the bones in to pieces. It also moved a few of the little bones (tarsals?) well out of place. The X-rays looked pretty scary. The orthopedic surgeon needs to wait for the swelling to go down before surgery so that will probably be happening at the middle of next week. From what the ER doctor said it will probably be early fall before I can be expected to be putting enough weight on that foot to be riding again.
I owe a wicked big thanks to Jane for helping me out gathering my stuff for the hospital ride and helping to arrange for my ride back from Concord. Thanks to Andy for making that ride happen. Sorry to everyone for my red flag delay on the track. I'll see you all next year back at the track!

That's what ya get for showing off.....
Totally sucks for sure, hope you heal well and get a lot of Samiches...
Rough deal man, heal quick! We'll see ya next year for sure.
Heard the news last night buddy. That SUX!
Glad it wasn't worse John. Heal up fast man! LOTS of red meat. Trust me. I have enough screws and pins holding stuff together and that helps you heal a lot faster then normal!
I'm curious on the boots too, did they fail or was it just the downward angle into them?
We heard about it last night at Bike Night. Definitely sucks! Heal up quick, John.

TCX boots: http://www.bikebandit.com/tcx-compet...s-racing-boots . The boots don't look any worse for the wear - I think it was just the impact that did it to my foot. I'm glad it wasn't the ankle too.
Thanks for all the well wishes - I greatly appreciate all the offers for help along the way too.

Thanks Doc. I appreciate the offer. I think at this point the man cave is going to sit for a while. I'll get back to it when I can move around more freely.
