Need help for Boston area

I am looking to make my first real motorcycle ride/trip. I am heading south of boston to my parents house on Tuesday from the B-Town in VT. Here's the deal. I can cover NH and VT for backroads but I am not familiar enough with the Boston/surrounding areas of boston to plan a route. I hate riding the bike on the interstate - that's just no fun. I need a know of a decent way to get to Avon/Randolph/Hanover/Rockland type of area. I live in Hanson and my wife is from Avon so I know those areas very very well. North of Quincy I always tried to avoid driving in (always took the T). Any ideas? I would appreciate any help. Looking to avoid Highways and routes like Rt1. Help please.

Most riders will not discuss routes on the forums. I have mapping software on my computer that I use to find the best roads. So far I have found some nice roads in my area

Get yourself down to Rt 2 in MA, then from Rt 2, take rt 27 all the way down to brockton. From there I assume you know where you are going. Not exactly 'sweet' roads, but workable, and not interstate.

Cheers,
Chris

what he said

there really aren't any great (or even particularly good) roads 'round Boston itself... best bet is to take a semi-circuitous route, like hohum outlined above.

unless you're travelling @ midnite, be prepared for a lotta traffic...

I am going to check out 2 and 27. I do know 27 when it gets close to Boston. I am not necessarily looking for "great" riding roads but rather just a good route to get me around Boston without have to hit interstate style riding. Thanks for the help
