I am still looking for a High Def TV. I saw this plasma for a reasonable price @ Tweeter, but never heard of the brand before?

Anyone know anything about the brand TATUNG??

I have had several Tatung computer monitors, , well actually they had another brand name on them, but were manufactered by Tatung

I had a fan made by Tatung....

Worked ok as I recall...

I was out and about tonight looking around. Plasma Tv's are $4500 and up! This one is $3000 thats why I wonder if it is good?

BTW, anyone looking for a tv buy now the prices are increadibly low, I saw a High Definition 50" wide sceen with pedistal base for $1800, this thing went for $2800- $3400 last year! (Best Buy)
Looks like they are knocking the prices down due to the economy and the new models breaking in the fall...

I have owned a few tv brands but I never heard of that one. I will have to ask around about it myself.

If I were you, I'd skip plasma for the time being. Plasma burns, and an expensive TV is a terrible thing to have to throw out in a few years.

I just got a sony 42, and DVD's(monsters inc) look fucking great. Bout 1600 with extended service i.e. water or kids from bestbuy

I concure,,
being an electronics nut,, I have found that over the years u get what u pay for,, especially in electronics,,, it sounds like its a entry level component,, and that much cheese,, ouch would hate to see it fry.... any way go with hdtv there descent priced and good quality,,,
besides if your only usin a/v connections from the dvd your only
gettin a/v quality,,,,
gotta have digital component or fiber optic for best quality
s video isnt to shabby either...

I've seen plenty of those gateway plasma's and I don't think they look that great, kinda choppy..... But that's just me.
