Sounds like some sort of partial "hazard" light? And the lowering of the beams is more like flashing your high beams in reverse, thus made to be not as annoying as a bright flash.

Sometimes I think BMW electronics ends up "tripping" over itself... You can only get so efficient without becoming cumbersome again...

its not a new feature, my 82 320i has amber lights that flash on each side ot the car also.... come to think of it so didn't my 69 VW beetle ..... and every other car I've owned.... wao, mybe I should go to a dealer and find out why I have all these lights that flash... one thing I have noticed though they are good for signalling to other drivers when you make a lane change or some other turn.

BMW putz

'think the articles kinda dumb.

Is the dealer trying to tell the Fooker its the 'blinkers/turn signals'?

That bright, dim the lights thing is .

BTW:
One German thingy for you to know............

Porsche. If you turn the car off with the turn signal level up/down, the corner marker (blinker) will light (yellow) but not flash.
Its the "feature" Europeans use when they park along the side of the NARROW roads and alleys so some Fooker won't sideswipe the car - by not "seeing" it.

in fact, you can get a ticket if you don't. same reason bikes have the "park" position on the switch that leaves the tail light on... the position that can run your battery down to useless if you screw up and leave it there overnight...
