That place will never be built, but they will still take your money for the July openings!

This is insane. That area's economy was DEVASTATED back in the early 90's, and it's yet to recover. That area STILL looks like a ghost town save for the traffic that's PASSING THROUGH...

I've been following this very closely, and most of the 'concerned citizens' arguements are just plain silly. If they'd get their heads outta their collective arses, they'd realize the financial impact this could have for all the communities surrounding the area...

I'm with Stoney...Those folks need to figure out what is more important..shooting down any hope for economic improvement, or crying about not wanting any type of economic improvement...SHIT...these people just don't get it do they?

Did any of those "concerned citizens" happen to have a banjo ?
I think I read it here before, didn't 200 plus locals from the Tamworth area accually apply for jobs at this place? I am curious as to how many of the concerned peeps live in that area full time vs. vacation homes. You would think that any jobs and local town income brought to the area would be welcome

Racetrack Permit

TAMWORTH, N.H. (AP) — The state has granted a wetlands permit to developers who want to build a motorsports club in Tamworth.

Residents have opposed the $28 million project. It would include a more than three-mile, 18-turn, European-style road course for cars and motorcycles.

Club Motorsports hopes to build it just off Route 25 near the Ossipee town line.

Residents raised noise and environmental concerns. But the project would not be dangerous for wetlands, surface water or groundwater, according to the state report. Noise wouldn’t be much of an issue and the track wouldn’t affect nearby wildlife, the report also said.

Residents said the state hasn’t fully considered their objections.

The project still requires several more permits. The next public hearing on the proposal is scheduled for late August

Wetlands permit is prolly the toughest one, remaining permits are likely to fall into place quickly now
