As some of you may know, I am very close friends with Geoff May. He lived with my best friend while I lived in Atlanta Georgia. I am very happy for Geoff. He has worked hard and is living proof that if you want something bad enough and give it all you have, you can make dreams come true!

It was inevitable though, after all his top 5 finishes, living in his truck with the new wife.....and the articles wrote up on him in RRW and CW sure didn't hurt none either.

FYI-His best finish was a 5th which he scored once.

All I can say is that I hope he has more than 1 top 5 finish this year and I hope he does well.

Again he has worked hard and yes he definately deserves it.

He posted a 142.3 at Daytona in testing on a new GSXR-1000 last week. only 2 seconds behind Miguel and Mat.

This bike had a stock engine with M4 exhaust, the wrong penske shock for him, a set of valved forks and a Power commander.

I can't wait to see what he does with a bike that is tailored to him.

I don't think he's runnning SB this year, though, right? Superstock has a lot more factory riders than SB, gonna be tougher to even collect a top 10

He said he will be running 5 SB events this year. Road Atlanta, Daytona, VIR, Laguna Seca and Brainard. I guess these were the tracks he does very well at.

Most of his time will be on a SS 600 machine and a Super Stock 1000.

Yes Kip.. they are being made as we speak. He signed with the team on Jan 2nd. Its gonna take a few weeks to have them made.

Also why risk ruining a new set of leathers on a test day.. You the "practice" king should know that.

In 2004, there were only 6 factory superbike efforts. Superstock had 10.

My statement was simply to recognize that being top privateer (ie--first non factory rider) in superstock is going to end up with a lower finish position.

sure, good luck not making it personal, you have trouble with that in the past.

I'm not discrediting Geoff, which is why I complimented him, or did you decide to ignore that. I only pointed out that SuperStock was more competitive than SB, so getting top 5's is going to be that much harder.

Nobody else seemed to have a problem with I was saying, sounds like you just wanted a reason to bitch at me.
