Yep, that's what I mean when i say "edge of traction". Only place I ever felt it was 9. Felt it twice in turn 2 but lost the front both times.

I have locked up the front coming into 1 and started to tuck, but when you let off the brakes at 130mph the bike tends to straighten up and not slide out.

Times i've crashed on the track: 3
Times i've slid the front in a turn: more than 3... and I suck

Do you consider a "push" different from a "slide"?

Slide and push are the same thing, unless you are referring to hitting water or oil, then it's a slide, splat. The opposite of slide or push is a tuck. You can control the push by turning the bars into the turn, and using the throttle. A tuck is an almost instant low side, you must be very lucky or very, very good to save it.

1. All politicians are corrupt. The populace should revolt and NO-ONE should vote. The system would collapse and chaos would reign. Sweet.
2. Spritualism and the abstract concept of "God" are within ones own mind. Organized religion is a way of charging you for knowing that.
3. Synthetic oil will make a wet clutch slip/

One of the above is false. Which one?

Re: Michelin Race tires

i consider a "push" to be slide....maybe not an all-out-bike-going-sideways kinda slide, but its definitely the tire "pushing" sideways sliding on some kind of level. I may be wrong but thats what I was referring to anyway.

other than that, the last time i legit "slid" the front tire I ended up cartwheeling over the tire wall between 8 and 9.

Re: Michelin Race tires

I know I"m an outsider, and I"ll get flamed repeatedly for this comment, buuutt.... if God is a concept within ones' own mind how did this happen for me? I went 31 years not believing, and thinking that preachers and ministers were just trying to make money too..... then, because of a tradgedy in my family I went to an independent church that was not part of an "organized" group, or in other words, it didn't have a "parent company". After reading the Bible through cover to cover, praying to God for help, and tithing the first tenth of my very humble financial fruits, I went from being an employee who had to work two jobs to pay the bills, to being self employed, employing four other people, and growing a business that has doubled every year for the past four years. I know my view is not popular, and I apologize for that, I can only share what has actually and factually happened for me, once I started reading the instruction book, and started living accordingly. If you want to be harsh on hypochritical spiritual leaders, or if you want to slam "organized religion" I"ll probably stand right next to you and shout the loudest. Those types peeve me off too.... Any organization ran by men will have it's faults. But the Lord is real, and he loves us all. I've taken his promises out of his book and put them to the test, and he proved himself for me every single time. Enjoy the coming season, and ride safely.

Quentin, I think that we think in almost the same manner. You had it in you all the time, it just took some guidance to find it. I'm saying that I think I found the meaning of it all without having to look anywhere but within.

Sorry to come accross as all heavy with this stuff, i really didn't mean to steer this in a religious direction.

Back to tires!!!

Re: Michelin Race tires

I agree with theQman23.

Also, like Saxybaby, sliding front and rear in turn 2 was always a good time (in a i just shit my pants sort of way). At least until the time it went too far and I fell. Boohiss. Used to do it on the Hawk bunch, not as much on motard. Only got to really hammer the motard on that one weekend however (june07) and didn't get laptimes below 1:20 (). Motard really isn't even pushing that hard at that pace.

We call it a coincidence in my house. My mother in law ran over an old lady in a cross walk leaving church years ago (true story), I doubt it was because the lady didn't pray hard enough. To each their own.
