Tire choice?

Alright I need opinions from you Pirelli guys. I have been running michelins for YEARS. I love them and have grown acustom to how they feel and handle. My current set are toasted due to a track day and 2 race weekends. My good friend Tony is willing to give me a set of Pirelli's that have been scuffed and instead of buying a whole new set of Michelins. I was wondering if any of you have run the 2 brands this year? I am not in any contention for a championship so I figured what the heck.

If you have any in put on handling characteristics or just a reason why you like them more or less than the Michelins let me know.

Thanks

My laptimes went from 22 to 19 in one day. You must make the geometry changes if you want a true test. The front is pointy enough to let you steer but not so pointy that there is no feel on the way to full lean. I would check them out. Make sure that you use the new tires not the old ones, the profile is totally different. Give me a call if you want to talk about it.

Powers aren't on sale, and are in fact going up 7% in about a week or two.

www.compacc.com for cheap Powers.

Thanks. Is there any truth to the rumor that discount internet sellers get tires that are lower quality(perhaps "2nd's") than retail establishments like the local dealers? Regards, Jake

No self-respecting tire company would release a second or blem tire onto the commercial market. Remember Firestone and the Ford Explorer?

The on-line retailers all buy tires from US distributors. Those distributors all buy the same tires from Michelin. There are no "tiers of quality".

The Michelin bought from Dunbar Eurosports or www.compacc.com all went through the same quality control procedures.

Whom ever said the on-line guys recived lower quality tires is not in the tire business.

I think the 180 will only fit your rear rim.

$99.00 for the tire. I have no more S2 fronts.

To match you up with a Power Race front in soft would cost $135.00 + $99.00 = 234.00 for the set.

A 1:14.9 is not 14's, but I do like you telling Jewtard to take off his skirt.
