LRRS decided to deprive me of a hobby based upon THEIR mistake and then made sure I couldn't race any other CCS events either.
Okay, I'm curious. No, I haven't continued sifting through that thread. I'd like to hear more about what happened though...

Are you NOT racing anymore? Do 'they' have THAT far a reach?

They have refused me an LRRS license.

They also made sure that CCS would not license me as well. Don H says he did no such thing. Kevin Elliot from CCS says he can't license me until LRRS lifts their ban. Two conflicting stories from two corrupt individuals. Who to trust?

Sure, I could go race WERA, and already have, but the nearest track being 10+ hours away isn't exactly practical anyway.

My last option is to race the motard series out in NY/NJ, which I'll likely do at some point, but a 6 hour drive each way for a half day event at a kart track isn't enjoyable.

Don H asked for an apology. I put one together and sent to him and Jerry. They both acknowledged it, approved, and said to make it public on all the various boards.

I did so, swallowing pride on WERA, CCS, NEAR, GIXXER, etc.

After dealing with the various abuse from people on there, Don went on and stated he never asked for an apology and the one provided was unacceptable anyway.

He then demanded a retraction.

I swallowed even MORE pride, and put together a retraction and sent it to them again for their pre-approval (as I did with the apology).

They ignored it and cut off communication.

All of the above was done with Peter Kates from GMD acting as a moderator/arbitrator/witness.

But why'd they refuse to license you?

Because I criticized their accuracy in reporting the results.

Last year, during the national weekend, they left a rider off the final results for the UNGP race. That same rider WAS listed as having laptimes for half the race.

The race was a Suzuki money race, and Suzuki pays back based upon the number of riders who start the race.

This rider missing from the results (and not listed as DQ, DNF, DNS, etc) affected the Suzuki payout.

I immediately saw the error and asked the media center staff to look into it. They said, ok, and it would be fixed in the online report.

It never was. (and still hasn't--you could check for yourself, but the LRRS website appears to be down, yet again).

I brought the issue to the attention of Don Hutchinson. He ignored it.

I brought it up again in the media center later in the season and Don said it was an 'IMPOSSIBILITY' that there could be an error and refused to look into at all. He also had me fined $100 for wasting their time.

I left the track that day and stopped at the head office to return my transponder. Bette French was there, wanted to hear my story--and after hearing it, she agreed with me, saw the error in the results, said she would get it taken care of, voided the fine, and asked me not to leave LRRS.

After hearing this, Don went to the front office, got into an argument with Bette, backed her into a corner somehow and she refused to speak about the issue anymore. Don said, 'we run LRRS, not Bette'

For the record, there are four members on the board of directors for LRRS (Don, Jerry, Bette, and Bob Bahre).

I since showed the incorrect results to Suzuki America, and they sided with me as well agreeing that the LRRS results were incorrectly reported. Suzuki sent me money.

I sat out the rest of the LRRS season in protest (results were still not changed).

In October, I swallowed pride, sent in $100 to cover the unjustified fine along with my license renewal.

Don sent back the fine payment and stated that he would not license me and would not tolerate any criticism of how they run the organization.

Don't take this the wrong way Adam, I believe just about everything you're saying....but wasn't there an issue with a loss of temper as well? Of course not saying that justifies anything.

LRRS site back up:

Here are the results:
http://www.lrrsracing.com/results/20...sults/Sun2.pdf

Here are the laptimes from the race:
http://www.lrrsracing.com/results/20...ps/Sun2Lap.pdf

Count the number of riders listed on the results (don't forget the DNF) and then count the number of riders with laptimes in the 2nd link.

Sure I lost my temper, and I wouldn't have been the first to do that in the media center as I've stood there while other had epileptic fits of profanity. I've seen others assault and beat up LRRS staff with no punishment.

They fined me. Ok, whatever. I tried to pay the fine--they sent it back.

I have a specific letter from Don H. in which he clear words say he is refusing to license me because I have criticized them and that it will not be tolerated in any form.

I'll scan it in later and post it up here.

As would I which is why I ate shit, swallowed pride, and threw out personal principles.

I followed the advice of a respected member of LRRS and even he couldn't get anything accomplished.

I have done everything they've asked of me and still they refuse to follow through let alone attempt to compromise a solution.

Nobody else is interested in helping (no blame being placed) but I'll be watching with eyes wide open when LRRS pulls this type of crap again.

It'll be interesting to see if anyone speaks up next time, though its doubtful unless it directly affects them.

Well guys, hopefully the new track will open up in Tamworth and perhaps WERA will try to hold an event there too.

I just try to show up and race but the political shit can get in the way of everyone and leave a sour taste in the mouths of those not in the circle of influence.

As a club shouldn't the club get the opportunity to vote for the officers of said club? All of the car racing stuff I am involved with, from club level to national level, allows us to vote for our officers and staff.

Perhaps its time for a regime change?

I'm sure you realize thats it not a club, its a privately owned business with a big $$ corporation holding the purse strings. Don, Jerry, etc are all PAID employees and stake holding members of the organization (and as I've stated before, everyone else helping run the show has a business that directly benefits from LRRS)

I'd like to see Tamworth happen, but at this rate I'm not holding my breath. Besides, its likely that LRRS would get its fingers in there quick.

I don't think WERA is going to come any further north.

Yes I know its a business. Its hard to convey sarcasm in typed or written word.

Either way, its a shitty thing Adam. Sorry they did this broseph.

Someone broke out the numbers for me a while back, (someone in the "know") How is not only a penguin instructor but also a veteran racer, saying that each race weekend both Don an Jerry clear about 20k. SICK! I tell you. SICK!

I need to start my own race series!

I doubt that very much. Don makes a salary, Jerry makes a salary and maybe makes some cash from penguin, but not $20k a race weekend, not by a long way.

derek

Whatever you think he is, at least he isn't some pussy that needs to hide his identity to talk big and avoid accountability.

Please, between the 'Race' and October you ran around the internet badmouthing Don and LRRS like no tomorrow, to people that cared, and to lots of people who didn't.

Even your heartfelt apology wasn't much of one, people with no interest in the matter (from other boards) said the same thing.

Sean at WERA begrudgingly gave you a race license, now is already regretting that decision based on your behaviour towards other WERA members. Regardless how injured you felt, you still acted like a prick about that guys recently deceased father.

Best thing for you to do is UNPLUG the god damn computer and move in for a while. You don't do yourself any favours with the 'oh poor me' routine. I've been reading about Adam friggin Vella from one side of the internet to the other for almost a year. Based on YOUR comments, and just YOUR comments, I wouldn't give you a license either. (not that sunny explaination above where you make yourself sound like a martyr).

BTW: Here's a true story. I went to Willow Springs in January to watch the club racers. WSMC being the farthest away from LRRS as you can get.. 3000+ miles. I walked up to some guys I recognized from another message board and said hello. When they found out I raced at Loudon the FIRST THING they said was "Do you know Adam Vella?!?!" 'no not really, just see him around the internet...' "Yea, wow, That guy is a fucking ass huh!"

Needless to say, that left me just a little dumbfounded. I couldn't believe YOU were the first thing they wanted to talk about when Loudon came up.

I AGREE that perhaps the initial dispute was a bit weird. Racers hot off the track, overworked officials, normally leads to bad moments. However, ever since that Media Center meeting, you haven't done anything to prove to me, a sideline nobody, that you should be welcomed back. If you can't convince me, how do you expect to convince Don "I hope you drop dead tomorrow and die" Hutchinson?

Unplug the computer man, go ride moto, supermoto, bmx, whatever. Drink a beer and move on.

OH and for what it's worth. I was banned from a organization once for what I felt was a stupid reason. I rallied around for the next month talking about how stupid the head guy was and how dare he and all that jazz. HOW COULD THEY SURVIVE WITHOUT ME!!!!

Well they did, and I did, and one day I said 'wtf? why do I care so much about that crap, off to something new' because I realized I sounded like a little bitch crying about my horrid 'banning'.

I could have rejoined the organization years ago, bygones are long gone, but I never have. Never even go to the website anymore. Moved on bro. move on.

I figured this couldn't possibly have happened like that, and it was a slow day at work so I poked around the WERA board to find this thread.

Like Alex, I'm another sideline nobody... Aside from a bunch of Tony's Trackdays I've done what... pfft... 4 races up there including a rookie race. As quick as I am to send my sympathies out to people, I'm not too sympathetic about this one...

Now I'm gonna respond to this thread, but I'm not gonna stick my nose where it doesn't belong so i'm not gonna even address the issue w/ Adam's LRRS banning and whether or not it should have happened... I wasn't there, i'm not Don, i'm not Adam... What I am concerned about is whether or not a mistake like this will be made again, IF indeed there was a mistake in the scoring (i haven't done any research on it and probably won't do any in the near future)... I think that if indeed there was an error that there should be more of a response than "LRRS IS ALWAYS RIGHT!!!" cuz everyone will tell you, that's a crap response.

Adam... if you can take some advice from a 26 year old kid like me, just chaulk it up to a learning experience... people who throw fits and pound & scream on the floor like I keep hearing that you allegidly did don't get what they want in life, they get kicked the fuck outta the house.
