It is pretty unreasonable to give people until the next race week-end to buy a new lid. This type of decision should be made at the end of the season, not 2 events into it.

Has anyone contacted the rider rep about this?

That avatar has always spooked me. It's just a little too androgenous.

btw, Don didn't handle it well (no suprise), but it has been discussed before. (after Ted Temple's injury, I think)

The one question that I have is!! Do they realize that HJC also makes carbon composite helmets!!! I admit that a good Helmet is a must but why ban a brand??? Band the Blow Molded hemets!!!

I notice that when we questioned them about it, they really pushed buying a single brand!!! It's a sales thing!!!!

I don't support blow molded helmets on the track but come on, don't make a sales pitch for one brand of helmet, not everyone has 600 dollars to by a helmet!!!

I think that's what they are trying to do. The brand name thing was perhaps a dumb way to present it as no one can seem to get past that.

He DID say he would work on a list of banned lids and post it to the site. How about a little patience? We have a 5 week break. Start saving your pennies.

You're welcome.

Jerry mentioned this last year. That is time enough.

They are making a decision based on what they've had experience in. Safety is the concern, not people's budgets, or un-informed opinions.

They are the oldest and sometimes the most progressive motorcycle school in the nation.

Let them do their job.

So lets say that everyone that had an HJC goes and buys a SHOEI, and now all of the head injuries are from those helmets, will they ban SHOEI helmets?

**I know this is not going to happen, just wondering**

I have no knowledge on the next question, but on a hunch:

anyone know if S&C sells more than one brand of helmet? their website is kinda blank in that regard, but i know they do have helmets.

so--to recap (and i know you'll ALL sick of hearing it but anyway)--member on board of directors for race org is also org's safety director also owns/runs family racing school that has exclusive rights to licensing.

seems like a conflict of interests
