I have this Blue 88 Hawk GT that is all race wired with woodcraft clipons, a supertrapp pipe, some (what do you call ems) that raise your stock footpegs up and back (poor mans rearsets?)...
I have no clue what the engine has but it had uni filters on it when I got it and Dent on the right side in the tank that was bondoed

I don't think it has seen the road or track in about 4 years. (I am still getting the rust off putting it back together.) I pulled it out of a snowbank in Colchester, VT in 2003 or 4.

I was just wondering if anyone may know something about this bike and the previous owner.

I realize this is a long shot but I thought maybe someone had seen the bike at the track or something.

You found it in a snowbank?

That must be my hawk that I lost a few years ago during a snowstorm...let me know when you're done putting it back together so I can pick it up.

Yep, I was driving by this apartment building in the late winter and I noticed the front of it sticking out. The snowplow actually buried the bike where it sat.

I watched it melt out of the snow for a month or so and stopped by. Talked to one of the tenants who had a tricked out chromed R1 and he said the bike was just left there by a previous tenant the summer previous and it hadn't moved since!

I then proceeded to trade a $150 AK47 for the bike.

No title needed in the state of Vermont and unless it was reported stolen I will have no problems registering it. I even had a key made.

Well it is currently in pieces in the garage.

The good thing is I have the Orange Hawk to look at for reference and stuff. (and I got that one for only $2000)

I just hope I can get this Hawk running, it has compression but I haven't tried to fire it yet.

Anyone heard of MABE racing? How do you apply to get a job with that race team?

yeah, those MABE guys give the rest of the Hawk racers a bad name. I almost got one till they came along & ruined it for the rest of em.

If we don't crash or get taken out on the 18-17 year technology you’ve got yourself a race. Just have to get around the damn fzr 400's and EX's clogging the track. No room for that crap. Can't you feel the love...

How can we convince you to get that bad Larry up and running? MABE has a wealth of building information. We all tore down the bikes all the way down to the tranny. Well some of us did..

Well why didn’t mention that before... I assume you will move into guest bed room and leave the master bedroom, hot wife and beer for me. I am not one for sharing unless she has a hot girlfriend.

I wouldn't mind a good ride up there to give you a hand, NOW. Next couple of weeks is out of the question. Kate's Birthday weekend /Race Prep/ Race weekend. Maybe some time in August?
