Endurance race September 1st

Hey NESR people.

NESR racing is entering the annual end-of-season "3 hours of Loudon" endurance race on September 1st. This is a classic "Le Mans" style endurance race with pit stops, splash and dash stops, fire extinguishers, pit boards and a rolling tv screen update on race positions. The last one was a blast and we came 6th. This time we are going for top 3, if not the win.

The riders will be as follows:

Derek Sinclair (me, degsy)
Gerard Schifino (CBR600GER)
Peter Kolojiek (Penguin race school instructor)

Team boss is Stoneman, Crew chief will be Bill Yak (rabid1). Bill will need people to do various jobs around the hot pit (pit board, fire marshall, fuel man etc etc, so volunteers here please)

We need a pit board, so if anyone can make or borrow one, that would be awesome.

We have some sponsor tickets to give away (limited numbers) so reply here if you want one (Crew members get first dibs). They get you into the grandstand on sunday for free, but it is an extra $10 is you want to go into the paddock area, with this pass.

Please, we need as many people there as possible (just like last race weekend which was incredible in terms of turnout) to cheer us on and get behind the riders. it would be nice to have people in the bowl, turn 3 and anywhere else around the track. Get imaginitive, make a banner or something if you can, anything to spur us on and intimidate the other teams. As per usual, the food and beverages for NESR supporters will be supplied by the racers.

There is also racing as usual on the saturday and I have pregridded for the racing (finally) so I am going for a win (if I can stave off the onslaught from Gerard).

Degsy

I will do anything you tell me to! Um, yeah, I think that's a safe statement...
And I think I know someone who would make a good fire marshall (maybe)
We still need an umbrella hottie (or 2) for the resting riders, right??

That's great Bill, there is a tv screen which gives up to the minute lap times and positions, but we will need people for the pit board.

We had communications issues last time because of all the noise, so does anyone have set of two way radios we could use?

I volunteer for fuel guy on whatever fucking day you decide it is held. It sounds like a dirty, risky job.

-Wouldn't want any mixture problems this year.

Oops, did I say that?

Besides, the wife will be in the MSF class this weekend (read: I get the weekend off)!!

Jay-

realize I'm late in replying, but had to eliminate a coupla conflicts before volunteering.

if you're still lookin' for non-/semi-skilled grunts for pit crew on Sunday, I'm happy to play. it would give me a chance to meet some of y'all in person, and give me an excuse to finally make it to Louden. besides... I gotta see these legends-in-the making in action!

Definitely come by Sunday. But the endurance race is on Saturday. The rest of the weekend is the regular race schedule, I believe. But we'll take all we can get. Thanks!

Yes, we can get you in for less $$$, but the endurance race is on SUNDAY (It's great, when the crew chief gets the day wrong huh?)

I can see that happening at Honda "Yeah Nicky, you're riding on saturday...or sunday, can't remember, anyway, it's at 3pm....or 4, something like that, so be ready"

any time saqturday or before 2pm sunday we will be in our usual position as you come out from the tunnel we are right in front of you. After 2pm sunday we will be on the hot pit ready for the endurance race.

I just found out that we will have a laptop in the pit with a network link to the timing system. Online, real time lap times and positions so we can plan pit stops and see who we are racing against.
