Novus, Amateurs sound off...

We shouldn't give out awards/prizes to (insert EX, AM or NV here). You have to climb the racing ladder. Even if you are the fastest in (EX, AM, NV) there is someone faster than you in AMA, WSB, etc. It's not "racing" unless you are the fastest person in the world.

Argument seems to be valid considering past arguments....

Edit: I like to bitch, so therefore I am. I like racing and will continue to do so, prizes or not. Just seems like some arguments are pretty far off and I like bringing that to the surface.

When people bring up AMA, WSBK, etc ... those are different organizations (albeit different level/skill of racing too)

We are talking about LRRS here, and its policy and procedures. IMO, if you start bringing in other organizations for comparison, its apples to oranges. Stick to the organization that we participate it, because its the only one that affects you.

Maybe never a chance again to claim a championship, ever.

Here is a question: Is this why a lot of people that do bump to Ex, change classes?

Novus should get an award, followed by Am, and then Ex.

Without Nov, and Am, there are no experts.
EXACTLY!! the thing about LRRS is that we only have 1 track to race at. anywhere else in the country you race at several over the course of the season. so if say.. eric wood beats your ass at las vegas you might have a chance to whoop him in AZ. this makes it a "chase " for the title. are you surprised at the end of the year when Doucette brings home multiple titles or greenwood or any one else mentioned by Dan? sure racing against those guys will make you better but will you ever really beat them? its nice to say you won some sort of championship when your AM so if you are looking for sponsers you can put it on a resume.

Jeff,Eric, Pete, Scott, Mike, Rick, Des, Kip, Etc...?? when will these guys "bump up"? and give us "little people" something to win. you want to talk about sandbaggers and cherry pickers...... big fish in a very very very small pond

Only it's not that small a pond. There are over 500 racers in lrrs. Those guys you mentioned win at other tracks as well, beating thousands of racers every year. They win because they worked really hard for years and years. That is exactly what it will take to beat them.

This is why some experts get elitist. It's just a lot tougher to win at that level. It has to be earned the really hard way. Why should they leave? They already did bump up. They are trying to earn a living at racing, and contingency money pays more than AMA events.
