Indoor MiniMoto Winter Series at Maine Indoor Kartingnot like im going to attend anyways, but what im not understanding is Racing Section Rule D. from the way it reads it doesnt matter where you finish aslong as you have the fastest lap. thats not really racing now is it. |

Indoor MiniMoto Winter Series at Maine Indoor KartingI asked the same question when the facility posted those rules for us. It was clarified that starting position for final is based on fastest lap, 1st guy over the line is the winner. Sorry for not fixing that in this post. |

Indoor MiniMoto Winter Series at Maine Indoor KartingWhen I was at MIK with the pocketbike group on 12/10 the staff was saying they had a group of Mini-tarders testing the track the week before and were trying to work something out. They were working with the group that rides the Bear Ridge kart track in the summer so if you know any of those guys ring 'em up for info. There is no motard info on the MIK website yet. MIK staff said the motard guys were having a hard time staying upright and they had some safty questions but that they were planning on setting it up soon. Next Pocketbike race at MIK is Jan 14. Pookie, what's up? Do you still have your Polini's? Would be great to see you back at the mini track sometime. |

Indoor MiniMoto Winter Series at Maine Indoor KartingWe ran one pocketbike class and one motard class this weekend. Looked like most guys were running 70-110cc with 12" wheels. Motards will be running the remaining dates this winter. February 18th March 11th April 8th Please contact Marc at MIK for details, and to let him know if you plan on racing. They may need to make some schedule/class changes if attendance grows. www.maineindoorkarting.com |

Jan 14, 2007 @ Maine Indoor KartingWe had some great racing of both Pocket Bikes, and Mini Motards this past Sunday. I was amazed, as was Marc (Event Coordinator) at the times the Mini Motards were pulling, they were as fast if not faster than most of our guests drive our karts. Granted they have much better acceleration than the karts. From what I saw, fun was had by all. If you were here, you know, if you weren't, you should try it on our next running. Check out our website for more details: www.maineindoorkarting.com Roll over the "events" tab and select Pocket Bikes. Send along any questions/comments. |

Indoor MiniMoto Winter Series at Maine Indoor KartingOriginally the pocketbikes and motards were going to run on different weekends. I didn't know the motards were running until I got there last weekend. It worked out really well with the 2 groups alternating on the track. See you guys in Feb. |

Indoor Motard RacingSo far we haven't put out true advertising for this, so if you haven't heard much about it, this is why. We've heard that a lot of people are interested in running in this series (a real series hasn't started yet) but we're still working out the kinks. So far we've run two sessions and they've seemed to go very well. To answer the previous question, we haven't had to split groups up, because we haven't had more than 8 people show up yet. We're thinking that 8 riders will be the max on the track at the same time, but this isn't definite yet. Stay tuned for updates, they should be coming very shortly (a couple days or so) ~Ian |

Indoor MiniMoto Winter Series at Maine Indoor KartingSo much for that. 7:30am and I'm loading up my gear and I get a call from a fellow rider who was planning on going. Word is the races are over at 10am. WTF? Checking the MIK website and apparently they 'Open' at 10am for karting. Yea driving 1.5 hours each way, paying $45 bucks, and having 1.5 hours of Event Time sounds like not-such-a-swell idea on Sunday morning. That's 3 hours of driving, 1 hour of loading/unloading, and probably 30 minutes of actual riding time. Not worth it for me. Bump that timeslot up a bit and perhaps we'll have something going on. Right now unless you live 20 minutes away it's just not worth it. Driving from Boston? Hartford? Come on. If the bike guys are paying to ride then get them out there at a reasonable time, not sticking it in before the 'real' customers come in at 10am. Sorry won't see anyone today, was looking forward to riding. Last edited by a13x : 02-18-07 at 08:31 AM. |
