Now I thought that was fast, but this girl was faster
Shes lookin for a real good time
I said, close your eyes, I got a surprise,
And I ran away with the bottle of wine

Thanks again, Peter. Good stuff and a lot of things that most of us who haven't even been to the track wouldn't have thought about.

You should do seminar tours...

Looks like I'll be looking for that second job to subsidize the racing itch.

Yep lots of good stuff was covered in the lecture/seminar. If youve taken the penguin class you probably heard part of the message before but there was some new stuff that I didnt think about. And its always good to hear from an experienced racer.

Pete keep that credit card on file because Im sure Im gonna be calling for stuff and testing out the MAX on that card.

Pete, nice job on the class! You covered as far as I know everything! Great information!

Racing may or may not happen for me in the future, This year it's not going to happen. Other priorities that will need my $ before I get myself introuble with a expensive addiction!!! I know once I start I would have a hard time giving it up..

Thanks for taking the time for this, and the Pizza, which was good!

Pete great seminar as usual. I've just got one question. How do you know when it's time to start racing? Like should you have X amount of track days under your belt?

I know it's probably not as cut and dry as that but I'd hate to get out there and be a hazard one the track. For example, riding at a pace that is much too slow perhaps.

On the other hand I find myself riding faster and faster on the street and it's not a good idea.

Good simple question that'll get ya nuthin but complex answers. It's one of those "when you're ready, ya know" deals, a feel that comes w/ experience.

My experience was a little over a solid year's worth of trackdays, about 10 of em....
Alex Dunstan will tell ya his first time riding on the track was when he took the Penguin School to get his race license.
Both of us ended up just fine.

I've got a gift certificate for the penguin school and it's just burning a hole in my pocket. Pete's seminar didn't help.

I'll see how I feel after VIR. If not this year, then definitely next year.

Yea thats pretty much where Im at right now. I have done 1 track day, penguin school, and 4-5 open practice sessions. I probably could get my race license this year but I think im probably just gonna do more open sessions.

Im plannin on going to the penguin advanced school in april.

Its def a good time. It was a little scary at first but knowing there are other good people from NESR who are always willing to lend a hand makes it alot easier for the new guys. If your gonna race just set up your pit area somewhere around the turn1, turn2, shower area and you'll be right in the middle of NESR town.

Just remember what Peter said. Dont watch a start before your first race.

NESR is migrating from turn 1 to the garages. Peter, G-man, Kip, Mike, and the seasoned guys have been there for a while. Me, KB, Johnny V, and Nazo are blazing the path. The rest will follow.

Yes, I think they started talking about it last fall. Pete offered one up because it is going to be empty.

I haven't made up my mind, I kind of like where we are now.
