started the day ...

finished drilling all the damn tedious safety wire holes today... (a few examples)

effing motard with a hydraulic clutch... wtf??? had to drill and wire the slave cylinder.
what is wrong with a basic cable???? And why the fuck do these things have to have 2
oil filters and 2 oil screens????

a beautiful example of cut safety wire on an exhaust bolt... with out the exhaust...
completely out of focus for your viewing enjoyment.

and after all that KB mounted my new rubber for me...

and with that i am damn close to done... just need to re-fill with fluids, add the catch can(s), alter some wiring, reassemble, and get the freshly drilled holes filled with safety wire.
oh and at some point i am gonna need to track down PK to get the initial basic suspension settings adjusted.

... is that front tire mounted in the right direction? Pattern looks opposite to rear.

nice i just finished up 4 hours of wrenching on mine. only thing left to do is mount the tank, mount tires and check all the bolts... oh and make sure the jetting is at least close.

and that front tire does look odd.

Who's going to be running the same races for NESR, seems like there'll be quite a few of you in the tard race.

you don't. Banjo bolts are the exception to the "holds back fluid" rule.

Don't forget to lay the bike on it's side when you change those two oil filters and prefill the filters

There are severaly things you don't "have" to wire... but should.

Besides banjo bolts, consider the bolts that hold brake and clutch levers.

Also, do your shifter rod and all bolts associated with that. (I have seen countless DNF's due to shifters)

Forgetta bout it!

I stumbled across a sweet deal with Nates help over the winter and decided to upgrade, especially after having ridden a few other KTM's.

I did wire some banjo bolts... then i re-read the rules more carfeully when i was scrutinizing for things i may have missed and realized i didn't have to. no biggy. just a little bit of extra insurance.

i hadn't considered the shifter and lever bolts... thanks for the tip tony.

Oh great... use us as the "test bed"

Seriously... if anyone has done any kind of work to their bikes, I strongly encourage early morning rides around the OUTER PIT AREA just after tech and before you get on the track.

DO NOT SPEED. Just first or barely into second gear. You really just want to get the engine up to full temp.

By OUTER PIT AREA, I mean well away from the garage area. Remember, the ENTIRE PIT AREA has speed limit of 15mph
