Looking to go LightweightI am starting to get a little discontent with the middleweight class. The 600's are fun. But damm I am getting old The grids are huge and and at 36 years I will never be the next Jamie Hacking. So I am Gonna sell My CBR600 F4i, And buy an SV650 or Maybe Ducati. And go Lightweight. So Any of you lightweight racers Wanna give me some tips or advice fire away. I really like High tech stuff So I would prob be looking for a superbike type of thing. I would like really something with Great suspesion and brakes and a Mildly tuned motor(IE Reliable). So if you know of a bike thats fits the above let me know. I am looking to get one right away. My F4I will be in the For sale section Soon |

Looking to go LightweightHawk, SV650, Motard. Ducati's are good, but fat, heavy, and not as reliable as the jap's. |

Looking to go LightweightDude that was you! I was the guy who pulled the tech sticker. (sorry but the cornerworker in me had to) and had you take Scott's bike. Glad you were ok. Hawks are great but you most likely won't be all the competative... If you want to try mine you can. The Hawk has SOUL and History and I love it but... An SV will get you to the front quicker. Plain and simple. Or a Motard.... Anyone can ride those things! |

Looking to go Lightweightforgot to mention... mine's pretty basic and the suspension is a little light for my skinny ass. doc's would likely be a closer match setup-wise (and he's got an ultra-trick front end on his). offer stands, just giving you too much info. |

Looking to go LightweightAfter my "big" crash in the 600 class, I decided the same thing... to go lightweight. I ended up on a Yamaha TZ250 and never regretted the move. If you like to tinker and you have the desire to do the maintenance (which is not bad, by the way)... then it definitely fits your requirements. (great suspension, brakes, and reliable) |

Looking to go LightweightTHe hawk is good, quite competitive in Ultralight superbike. In the lightweight classes(LWGP, LWSB), however, it's a bit outgunned. If you keep the engine mods to anything but a big bore kit, it's very reliable. There are are usually TONS of spare parts up there, too. Give it a shot. |

Looking to go LightweightI sold it to him. We actually traded for some Chickenhawks and his Old GS500. It has stock rear suspension, F2 front, 1x158 cams, ported heads, Stage 3 jet kit, 2 Bros exhaust... Currently not shifting well per Chad. Last edited by Doc : 05-20-07 at 04:49 PM. |

Looking to go LightweightI've toyed with selling my 02 SV race bike. Biggity has first crack at it but if he passes then it's open season. Galfer wave rotors and stainless lines. Pete kates redone front suspension and a penske rear shock. all it needs is a front fairing stay. (i have one but it's for the wrong bodywork.) |
