EX mods?

Ok, I just had WAAAYYYY too much fun last weekend on my new (to me) Ex500, so Ive decided thats the route Im gonna take for the forseeable future. Everything about it is stock, except theres a braided brake line up front. Is there any mods that are a good idea? Mind you, Im a novice, and not very good, so I dont need anything crazy and would like to stay in the PTwin class.
I was thinking rearsets, just for my size, as well as the fact I hit the peg on the curb in 6 and 10, but that more could be my bad form at this point.
And another question, Ive heard both things for my level about the fork brace. Mines still on, as well as the bar under the fender, ditch them, or leave them, or it doesnt really matter? Thanks guys

you can be competitive in PTwins on a 100% stock bike... that's what the class was designed for.

With that said, if you wanna get "WILD & CRAAAAZY!!!", Woodcraft clipons & rearsets, EBC full floating rotor, Penske Shock & more agressive pads is just about all that's left to bolt onto that thing w/o making you illegal for PTwins.

In order of when I would do them

1. Ditch the fork brace.
2. Rearsets
3. Clipons
4. Rear shock
5. Revalve/respring forks
6. Floating rotor
7. Uhh, NOS? That's about all you can do at this point.

Yah, I figured all as much, I just wanted to hear from people that have some experience. I forgot to mention I have clip ons, and will probably end up getting rearsets just for the positioning.
The NOS sounds like a nice idea, I might hafta try that. Might hit 100 on the straight!

Is there such thing as a 1/4 turn throttle for it? I find myself having to move my hand to get the thing completely pinned, which often leads to me accident leaving the throttle engaged when trying to let up, especially when setting up for 11

I'd have to disagree.

I started on a stock bike and brakes matter most to me. EBC Floating Rotor, Braided front line and some decent HH pads. THEN Racetech emulators up front/springs. A Penske is nice, but for the money, I'd do the other things first.

Rearsets and clipons are a matter of personal preference. I have clipons and they don't matter too much to me. I'd stay away from fork braces.

If you are a big guy, a Penkse will help a lot more than if you are wee.

Step one: Push the bike over on the ground.
Step two: Light the bike on fire.
Step three:Buy a motard.

I've heard from fast EX guys to toss the fork brace too.

Gotta let the thing wiggle, that's how it goes fast!
