So what is happening here?

I was in the LWSB race and I kinda noticed the front of the Ducati kinda slid all the way threw 9. It didn't feel planted and I didn't feel like I could power through the way I wanted. I felt it a little in 11 and 1 as well. Any long corner really.

Front Tire pressure was 28 cold, would get to 30-31 hot.

Any ideas? Got a fix? I hadn't felt this before, of course I was going a good 4 seconds slower...

I have been told that if your front is not moving yet, you're not going fast enough - Especially through 9.

So your saying I am starting to get fast? I bet I can fix it with some suspension tweaking.

Mmmm, I'm not sure that's a productive idea. Holding the bars too tight is still 99% reason for all slides, front and rear. The faster I got through nine, the better the front hooked up on my 125.

Now in the end, it's possible to relax enough to carry so much speed that the bike will drift both ends before fully hooking up, but that's out of reach for 99% of the riders 99% of the time.

Better to focus on getting it hooked up. just good basic riding technique and having a good "map" of the corner will get you there.

Have PK do his push/pull routine & if the problem persists, do what I do.... ignore it and ride through it

Ok so I need to relax more and probably work on my body position through there then.
It was predictable and seemed to "push" no matter what I did. I will work on it before I start fiddling with suspension.

i wanted him to do that on the Hawk but I guess it was too far out of his league to deal with the mess.

The Duc feels MUCH better suspension wise, The Hawk seems kinda soft.

Same here! Dragging hard parts means less weight for the suspension to have to deal with.

A vague feeling front end will have different causes at a 1:30 laps time than it will at a 1:17 lap time.

So help us help you; What kind of lap times are you running?

I've found that when I'm running 1:25s I get SEVERE chatter through 9. At 1:21s I have no chatter at all.

Just go faster.

well my ex likes to somtimes slide the front out, then the back, then the front, and then it comes back and the rear wheel lifts up then the amazing horsepower brings the front up. i've found that if you feed it carrots right after the apple, it calms it down. just my imput. hope it helps.

Those tires are good but the front is a little vague until you get to full lean angle. Are you sure that is not what you are feeling... Plus those bikes need to be stood on their head to get any feeling out of the front end. That frame is the same as my bike so you probably need a TON more ride height...

Just my .02

I was told this before by Kyle Thompson of BCM. Thanks for confirming

I changed the bars from clip ons to Helibars for a shorter reach, Iam sure this didn't help much.

Looks like I can increase the ride height a bit as well. I am gonna have to stop by Garage 15 in October.

And know I wouldn't call it "vague" but I guess I could... really felt like it was just barely starting to slide, like if I pushed it more it would slide out.

...hobbs, now doc. why is T1a breeding these damn things all of a sudden??

and btw, isn't 31 hot off the track a little high for that front tire? i know the rear likes to be motard-low on pressure.

4 seconds slower? twist the throttle and get the weight off the front, you're scrubbing too much speed and overloading it, then making it worse getting nervous and tightening up your muscles and getting into a nervous body position.

No No No... 4 seconds FASTER....

I wanted to go faster but felt if I twisted it that it was gonna slide out. I think I need to hang off more, with the Hawk I get my knee down all through 9, with the Duc it is taller so more difficult to do, plus the same body position might not work.
