I tried that mostly to try and get some stickers to throw on the bike. The only offer I got was from chickenhawk who offered me like 10% off a product I already told them I own, IF I take pictures of my bike for them to use, send results and an updated resume every year, and like 3 or 4 other conditions. So basically they offered me 10% off something I already own, if I do a ton of extra work. No thanks. Though Im sure if youre actually good that site might help out.

looks like you need to have a very established resume to expect anything out of this website though

Ha! I looked up a Guy in Vermont... AM racer at NHIS....I'll get the name, but he already has 5 sponsors!

I doubt it is for more than like a 15% discount. but what the hell...

Also MW is NOT "moving up" It is just a different class. IMHO.

I started creating a page after the season ended. I'll find you and send you a "friend" request. Not sure what different companies are looking for, but I figure I'll try and put something nice together and then send messages to a few "key" companies

Hmm... interesting topic. When Brendan invited me here, I was trying to not only learn more about track riding, but get to a point I could sponsor the board, which I am known for everyday low pricing for riders on boards so theres no real need to "sponsor" any one or two etc, riders. I don't pull enough sales to give shit to racers, but selling at cost + shipping (normally 20-30% off MSRP) is a thing that has worked in the past... of course with your first order a couple business cards are tossed in there, and some decals for my company... but never heard anything back on this...

Imagine this, on another board I sponsor right now, I am raffling off a set of carrozzeria wheels, these fit probably 95% of the 2003 and newer bikes on this site! from Ducati to Yamaha its there. Ticket price is $10, so for a dime bag you could win a set of wheels, with sprocket, assembled, lighter and stronger than stock. I've raffled off 3 sets of wheels so far, 2 sets of Galfer Wave Rotors w/ pads etc.. on top of that, again I rarely if ever sell at MSRP or w/in 5% of it. Anywho. Enjoy the sponsor searching, it sucks. It took me 4months of daily prowling for sponsors when I lived in Hawaii to find willing sponsors for Drag Racing, but after all the turn downs, you learn more about character and perseverance.

Well, I contacted Stoneman in hopes of sponsoring this site, which of course would allow me the privy of advertising items I sell, Group Buys, Raffles etc.. he might still be working on that, not sure... of course all the "lets fuck with the new guy posts" may have put that on a back burner, but I hope not. I understand hazing, as you should know being military and all On top of that, sponsoring the site, my plan was to put feelers out for racers (yes I know 90% on here are road racers/track racers) that A. could use sponsorship B. would represent their sponsors appropriately (not only having a decal on a bike, hell any idiot will throw decals on doesn't mean shit, but being able to list their sponsors in race run cards, and at the podium when placing and to friends/opponents etc...). My company is small, so its not like a huge thing where we're giving away products (understanding most racers, no matter the form, need tires, brakes, fuel and run card costs..) but as you mentioned with Vortex, giving the racer the best possible prices for products we carry, which the list continues to grow weekly.
Currently we carry, deal, or otherwise the following:
Carrozzeria Wheels, Galfer Brake Products, Speedohealer, all products from Brocks (obviously more drag racing oriented, but PCIII's and some other stuff of use no matter your flavor of riding/racing), Power Bronze (mostly appearance stuff), Bike Effects products, products from Tucker Rocky and Parts Unlimited, etc.. as well as our own products like a turbo kit (currently only for Hayabusa and GSXR1000) and Hayabusa 1397cc engines... I'm sure I'm leaving a lot unmentioned but this post would be painful to sort thru listing individual items etc..

So in short, yes I'd set up sponsoring riders, but helps to sponsor the board, or at least advertise w/o the ban hammer coming down... so normally to advertise the owner of the site collect payment or discount on products in trade. Will see what comes up.

Thanks Doc.

Charlie

Honestly, the racer/track guys are only about 75%.

They are just more "vocal"

Very interesting topic.....and one that we've certainly put some time and effort into.

Not that I'm the best at gaining new sponsors, but we've landed some pretty good names over the past year - Coca Cola, Joe Rocket, etc. If anyone needs/wants some helpful tips PM me and I'll be glad to share.

And good luck to those actively in the search.

Re: Sponsorhouse

I won't be taking this so i can talk about it.

Spidi just offered 30% off products thru motonation.com the contract says I can't talk about it but since 30% on a $1000 suit doesn't drop the price enough for me I guess I won't be going with their sponsorship.

Odd. I met the founder of Sponsorhouse recently. He's old friends with my boss.

Think Sponsorhouse is good if you want to boast you have 140 different companies that all give you 15% off.
