Sewing patches on leathersAnyone ever sew their own patches onto their leathers? Do you need some sort of heavy duty industrial sewing machine or anything? I wanna put some patches on of all the major sponsors Im getting, in other words, some bands I like and stuff just to decorate things, but dont wanna bother paying someone to do a great job. I just need the things to hang on decently but dunno if a household sewing machine can get through the leather. |

Re: Sewing patches on leathersQuote:
i know you dont want to pay, but RS Repairs will do it for just $4 per patch without plastic or $8 per patch with plastic plus the standard $35 opening charge - get a dollar bill stitched on with plastic or somethingi have also heard of people just gluing it on hope that helps Denno |

Re: Sewing patches on leathersYou can buy the special needles needed for leather, and you will need a more robust thread. I have been repairing my own leathers on mom's sewing machine for years with no ill effects. It is a bitch though to work the leather in the small machines! The tough thing is sewing those metal spikes on the leather collars ![]() |
