Hey, quick question, not to get off topic... does registration for the rookie race only happen at the track? there was nothing on the race entry form i faxed in. (and yes i understand where you grid does not matter as the race is a dress rehearsal)

I got lapped my rookie race too! Course, first weekend I crashed in thursday practice 1/2 a lap into practice and broke my thumb.

Yah, you hafta go to the Penguin garage in the morning and they have a sign up sheet.

The next day I ended up on my head in second practice. I had the wrong line coming out of turn 11 and went off the track. The grass was wicked slippery from the dew, and the bike flung right out from under me. I still made it to my race, but pitted in after 2 laps and nearly making the same mistake again.

Do I have to crash in the rookie race or is it optional?? Did you have to take the school again to get your license??

He crashed in practice. For the rookie race, you just have to finish it.

End of year before, did penguin

Race every weekend after that.
So I didnt crash in the rookie race, just in option practice before the weekend started.

it was friday practice. We went out together and I was wondering why you were not flying passed me until I saw the red flag. Oh shit.

BTW - best part of the story - one of the photo guys got a picture of DB going through turn 2. Kind of nice since it was DB's first time on the bike and the bike never made it past turn 7...ever.

You werent even riding then, were ya? It was the first weekend last year.
I dunno, I do have a picture on it and can use it to tell people I raced the 600s at one point.
